• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

Andrea Wilson Named Head Softball Coach

I think it's a great hire and makes all the sense in the world. As much in disarray as the program was last year, she did an outstanding job of pulling those kids together and getting them to play some really good, entertaining softball. I'm anxious to see the program grow under her tutelage...

am i the only one looking at the turnover rate of ISU athletics? I think theres a reason for the student-athletes being so unhappy. And i think alot of that is the coaching!

A team makes it together because of individual choices to get along, not coach control. They played those games not the coaches.

Having coached kids at several different levels...I think I can speak to the fact that a coach IS the one responsible for "framing" the mindset of individuals on a team, and can have a great influence on how a team comes together, or fails to, when times get tough. To deny that is to say a coach's only responsibility on a team is the "x's and o's" and teaching the basics. On the other hand, that's not to deny that without a player's personal decision to "buy-in" to the coach's program there will be problems. It's always a mixed bag. I've seen "selfish" players destroy coaching careers...and I've seen coaches who totally alienated their players with their own immaturity and lack of ability to relate.

My question is, what's your point about the "turnover rate" inside ISU Athletics? Be specific. What is it you're really saying? Tell us what's "between the lines" in your statement. Are you talking about softball alone, or all sports? If you mean all sports, you're not just referring to one coach. Don't be afraid to come out and say what you're really thinking.
