Re: 2019 Recruiting

If you follow the coaches they have some really good 2020 recruits in for unofficials. Never remember any coaches in recent history getting ahead of the recruiting curve. Bout time!

Re: 2019 Recruiting

I agree class looks good for short term recruiting. I am guessing they may still get a few recruits over the next month. The ones I see here have a drive to win!

Re: 2019 Schedule

Here is my prediction: Slow your roll sunshine we have not seen spring practice yet and have not seen the offense/defense changes. I predict the team plays with a lot more urgency. I predict given the coaching changes we will see the team play the full 60 minutes or they will find a spot on the side...

Re: SiouxFan Realignment Nonesense

Ok I am tired of Sioux Fan aka the Fighting Chicken Hawks (hat tip Foghorn Leghorn) getting all the good conspiracy hyperbole so I want to get one of my own. There are exactly 22 D 2 teams throughout the country that have a stadium with 10k or more seats. Simultaneously all 22 schools expand their s...

Re: WAC Positioning to Bring Back Football at FCS Level?

BSC is a very serviceable conference I know traveling can be a challenge at times but its a way better conference than WAC. The WAC answer to losing Bakersfield is picking up Dixie State...WOW what a pick up. To me the WAC is on life-support. But if there is an opportunity to jump to the Mountain W...

Re: WAC Positioning to Bring Back Football at FCS Level?

With the move of Dixie State to DI (led by HC Paul Peterson!), there is much speculation that the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) is aiming to return as a FCS Football Conference. Lots of message boards are chirping on about this, but I wouldn't mind to see this make-up: New Mexico State NAU Dixi...

Re: Kris Richardson Leaving Folsom HS to Join Taylor

Looks like Coach Taylor only retained two coaches from Sears' staff. http://www.hornetsports.com/sports/fball/2018-19/releases/20190108knypbg Good to see he picked up former NAU DC Andy Thompson. Thompson had left NAU for SUU in December but probably decided he has a better future here. I've been f...

Re: Troy Taylor Named Head Coach

I don't know if the SacBee article was recently updated, but I just read this: Taylor is doing double-duty now, coaching the Utes offense through the Dec. 31 Holiday Bowl against Northwestern and assembling a coaching staff while also determining which Hornets coaches will remain. Taylor told The B...

Re: M&W 2018-19 Season

So, was this a case of being overwhelmed by superior talent, but persevering through that and not quitting? They were bigger, much bigger inside. We’re leading at the half. However we never quit. One of the announcers said at the 5 minute left mark that W cannot seem to put these guys away and if t...

Re: M&W 2018-19 Season

I watched the game on the PAC 12 network. I agree that the perimeter shooting was spotty. However, they played hard and kept coming at UW. Mistakes and a very good Washington team were the difference. I could see this team having a good year in conference.

Re: Troy Taylor Named Head Coach

:+1: God dammit!! I was honestly out on this program and feeling great about this decision. No more $$$, no more nothing... And just as I was about to lock the door, Orr and Nelson had to go ahead and shoot for the moon. Whether it works out or not, thank god someone had the balls to finally try and...

Re: Troy Taylor Named Head Coach

Thanks Buckeye for posting the presser. By definition it would have to be a long term contract with some sweeteners to make it work. I noted he did a classy thing and was gracious to Sears. I am glad to finally hear how key the QB role is to success. I am more excited about the things to come in thi...

Re: Sears Fired

I like the Troy Taylor pick. I like what he has done at every stop in his career. Some people have an absolute skill to raise those around them. Just want to say though, had Sperbeck not taken this program and put in the hard work to get around .500 and then defeat 2 PAC 12 teams, we probably would ...

Re: Sears Fired

Wow..Troy Taylor makes $525,000 per year with Utah..seems like a big pay cut to be the head coach for Sac State.. https://www.sltrib.com/sports/utah-utes/2018/12/14/utah-could-lose-another/?src=rss Yeah that's a massive pay cut (>50%) to return home to a high income tax state. His $87.5k bonus he g...

Re: Sears Fired

Last night Michelle Dapper on Channel 3 said that Orr wanted to have a coach in place before early NLI signing day Dec 19th. The last time we had a full coaching search to hire Sperbeck it took until Jan 13th. I suspect that Orr has a short list in mind and may have made some contacts to judge inte...

Re: Sears Fired

From what I heard the extension was only a 2 year deal. With 2019 being a 12 game season with 2 body bag games, the timing really worked here. Good on Orr for keeping the extension as short as possible so the numbers can work out. I have a hard time seeing 2 or more years of a contract being eaten....

Re: Sears Fired

I am going to be contrarian here. No team from the Sky has won the National Championship in a while. Personally I would like to see an assistant from the MVFC or CAA. Matt Entz, defensive coordinator at NDSU, Clint Brown at South Dakota State. At the very minimum we should have a very deep dive in F...

Re: Around the Big Sky features

And amazingly the montucky schools each got 2 games and the other schools were left out. I am so tired of this montucky homer coming on our site and bragging about this garbage....... The BSC doesn't control non-conference schedules. There have been quite a few MVFC vs BSC matchups in the past, I t...
