No disrespect to Jody Sears or even former head coaches Marshall Sperbeck, John Volek, etc but the Hornets program really needs to find a coach that can instill discipline & consistency in their players.
Angus McClure....

Re: Week 4: Sac State at Montana

So it's confirmed that Thomson has been cleared?

And I'm guessing that one transfer wanted to stay with Hauck, while the other was trying to get away from him? LOL....

Re: Week 2: Sac State @ San Diego State

I'm still T-d off about what SDSU did to UOP (largely due to that punk Marshall Faulk) back while I was in the Navy and actually at the game. I'm hoping Sac can get some revenge for me, and I'm not as pessimistic as Kadeezy seems to be. If their DBs are THAT problematic, we might be able to take adv...

Re: Week 1: St. Francis IL (NAIA) @ Sac State

Like I mentioned in the TV thread, I was impressed with this outing. What some of you are forgetting is that this was a potential trap game. St. Francis is the defending NAIA National Champions, so the potential to pull a shocker was there. That it did not is a testimonial that our guys weren't abou...

Re: Televised Homes Games on CW 31

The production quality stunk, which was surprising given that 31's coverage of the RiverCats, while not MLB quality, has been much better than this. Was this Garcia's first game ever in the booth? He was horrible as a color commentator. The moving over our regular radio guys to do a radio simulcast ...

This is huge. Sac-area TV hasn't aired Hornet Football (that I know of, anyway) since Channel 3 did so during the mid-'80s....

Re: Humboldt State pulls the plug on football

Sac picked up a few from UOP. I should know. I was one of them. (Of course, I had no legit shot at the field at either place, but at least the staffs were kind enough to allow me to be part of the program....)

Re: 2018 Schedule

There ain't no way we're losing to SUU, especially by THAT much. I don't see us losing to BBQ, either. SDSU is vulnerable. I see the potential for an undefeated season here, with the two most likely losses at SDSU and at the Griz.

Re: SAC Ranked #23 in Preseason Top 25

Rankings are really only important at the end of the season. This team has the tools, let's just hope they use them correctly. Yup. Playoffs or bust. Actually, that's not QUITE so. While you guys are correct in that preseason rankings don't really mean diddly compared to end-of-season rankings, it'...

Re: 2018 Schedule

Weirder things have happened, GAS. In 1995, the Big West was rated LOWER than the Big Sky, yet UOP hosted Oregon State, one of the Tigers' three wins en route to a 3-8 season record (largely due to the extreme body-bag schedule that featured suicide games against Fresneck, Arizona, Nebraska, Oregon,...

Re: 2018 Schedule

Who negotiated the Aztec contract? Shouldn't that be a home-and-home, or at least a 2-for-1? I realize they'd probably buy their way out of the return trip to Sac, but even that extra cash would be a help....

Re: 2018 Schedule

SD's posit of having to win 8 of 9 is probably true, but it's also doable, assuming that the Griz are that one loss. The potential monkey wrenches in that scenario are Cow Poly, BBQ, the Sioux, SUU, and perhaps NAU. The others are gimmies. That said, don't discount the possibility of a bodybag upset...

And I'm hearing reports (rather early and vague, mind you) of that D-I INO Utah Valley to the WCC to replace the Zags.

That would be ANOTHER questionable move, IMO.
