The three Cali FCS announce a move to the WAC.
Might be as late as Feb but it will happen.
Better chance of us getting a $50m stadium upgrade.
LOL.

Missouri St will hire either Art Briles or Bobby Petrino for head coach.

Mo St will be a WAC fb rival to Sac St. Those going FBS need an experience fb coach like Cal Poly got and you and UC Davis preciously got.

Mo St will stay in the MVC for non football.

Waiting for FBS coaches moves by Wichita St, Sam Houston St, Lamar, and McNeese St.

Wichita, no football since 1976, ok.
Sam, small $15M or less overall budget, same with Lamar Latrell and McNeese.
McNeese just had their HC resign for APR penalties.

By the time the mythical coaches are hired at these schools, Troy Taylor will be the HC at Notre Dame.

Wichita St will resurrect fb and play in the WAC for that sport. They hope to upgrade to the American after a few years as the already have upgraded their bb band to a marching band. It’s just hard to get 200+ people in formations on the basketball court.

Mo St and Wichita St would be perfect associate rivals in football. They both want to appeal to Texans for athletes and students.

Just when I think this thread couldn't get any more comical, SF chimes in with realignment nonsense.

Sac State and Davis to the PAC-12 is more likely than this SF non-sense, and that’s really saying something!

Davis will be long gone to FBS before this board sees sense in a move up instead of their normal penny pinching here. Maybe that’s why the Dakota schools keep expanding their new athletic facilities because we have dreamers with money.

'WE'. You just claimed to live in the inbred South (actually explains a lot).

So WTF is this "WE' $#!T ???

You aren't part of the equation, pal.

FWIW, Dakota schools can afford to expand their facilities because there's absolutely no other options and nothing to do up there. The collegiate teams are as close to a pro team those frozen hicks will ever see. There ain't than many people willing to live there and most those that do have nothing else to do on a Saturday. So where else is their $150 paycheck gonna go?

Meanwhile in CA ..... there's too much going on for people to pay much attention to even an NFL team unless they're winning consistently. Even the 49ers weren't drawing well until they started winning this season. The Rams and Chargers draw more fans for the opposition than themselves. College programs have the same problem and the smaller ones have it worse.

Again, gotta win to take people away from the myriad of other things to do in CA.

Meanwhile in the Dakotas ..... it's fairly easy to draw people away from their ice fishing holes, winning or not.

You just explained why the Buckeyes are successful.

At UND, they draw 250,000 a year for hockey so I guess we do gather around ice.

It took forever to get the Republic soccer team so there is interest in sports,

Said the ASun would get CAA schools and others and go FBS.

Lo and behold that conference announces plans to more than abouble their membership.
https://asunsports.org/general/2019-20/ ... 0122lh6utq
There’s is a lot of FCS schools that want FBS near them:

JMU
Delaware
Stony Brook
Albany
maybe UNH, Towson

Non-CAA:
Youngstown St
E Kentucky
Jacksonville St
NC A&T

Inside the ASun:
Liberty already is
Kennesaw wanted an East Coast League for years
North Alabama is building a new stadium
North Florida wants an FBS league
FGCU also wants one

But I’m just an idiot here, as Sac St fans are just so up on this.

The ASun can qualify by 2025 for the CFP, which will go way up by the new contract in 2025.

Good job linking to a "Page Not Found" for your conference realignment nonsense evidence.

I've only skimmed it, but this looks more like a plan to get another NCAA Tournament bid (by splitting apart once the continuity is earned) than some grandiose plan to move FBS. I'll still file this as nonsense as nothing in the article mentions football.

Talks about adding value to the conference. Only FBS would add significant value.

"Talks about adding value to the conference. Only FBS would add significant value."

That is kinda stretching it. I think the 'value' would be the strength in numbers mentality.

By far, the biggest news in the Conference Shuffle is Boise State suing the MWC in hopes of either getting their own TV money or moving to the AAC.

A vacancy in the MWC would create some movement if a lower level FBS accepted the spot, but not likely it will impact FCS ranks.

The most likely add to the MWC might be welcoming BYU back from the ranks of the independents. But they’d have to get over themselves first, which might not happen. Their second choice would likely be to welcome New Mexico State’s dumpster fire of a football program because a solid hoops team comes with it...

There is no way Sac or Cal Poly would invoke an FBS conference invite with the HS gyms they call a D1 BBall arena. Until either school rectifies this issue, it will be a lead weight around the schools neck for any future expansion.

The Boise thing will be interesting to watch. If they pull out of the MWC, they'll look to the BW or WAC as they are staring up baseball. I actually think the WAC would be the favorite as that conference is desperate for members and the BW will want travel subsidies. Plus the WAC is located in a lot of large metro's on the West Coast which would be beneficial to Boise.

The MW isn't going to backfill with an FCS program, if at all. They'll want into the Texas market for recruiting and viewership to boost its TV deal. And BYU is essentially pursuing what Boise wants, and Oly home with FB TV monies all to itself.
