Cravens is a treasure: “They’re hotter than a Texas parking lot!”
But yeah, his “I don’t think I’ve ever seen a team do a 180 like this in 2 1/2 weeks.” RESONATES.
Tew seems to be coming into his own, REALLY nice D and 3’s aren’t at 20%.
Looks like this season is going to be watchable after all.
Loved that line by Cravens. I also liked, “I would have bet my mother-in-law’s car keys three weeks ago this team wouldn’t have won ten games all year.”
That’s exactly what I thought, too. I gotta give Duft credit…a big win in Logan vs undefeated USU, a down to the wire finish in Provo where a couple of players had lousy shooting performances or otherwise they might have picked up the program’s first win in Provo.
Duft has the team playing high intensity on defense and getting better on rebounding. They were able to make big plays when their 22–point lead shrunk to five. If they keep that up, they can be at or near the conference top. I’m still a little concerned on their shooting, but at least they didn’t keep chucking up 3’s and drove to the hoop and got to the line. Good for Duft, the staff, and the team.
Now my grievances. Where the hell are the promotions and marketing? I was thinking about taking my family to tonight’s game, but it would cost $66 at the cheapest tickets to get my family of five in. Come on man!
Nothing in the Standard-Examiner for possible deals or coupons. No corporate sponsors buy out night like America First? With my three kids being too young to pay close enough attention to the game, I’m not going to sink that money for one game. The Jazz do upper bowl family nights with deals for tickets that also include concessions…why isn’t Weber State doing anything?
I know most people buy online…I saw no deals there. The ticket office phone line is very shaky on if they will even answer the phone during their business hours.
I guess if I want to go to the Purple Palace, it would have to be a solo night out where I will catch hell later from my wife for leaving her alone with three hyper boys. Not wanting to fall in that trap, I guess it is ESPN+ for me.
I would think given the choice, you might want 6-7K fans with discounted tickets as there would be more concession revenue vs 1-2.5K of full price ticket paying actual attendance, but it looks like the University doesn’t think the same.
Oh well, enough of that. Congratulations Wildcats! Keep up the high energy defense!
