1.5 M Donation to Weight Room Ignored

Heard about some issues behind John L's departure. Not saying that what he did should be condoned, but Weber made some promises to get him to come to Ogden and then did some quick backpeddling. For instance, there was a 1.5M donation to Weber, that Smith was able to get from Wildcat Alumni, that went unused because of the administration's refusal to compromise. Also, John L wanted to find professionals who could help his team improve their agility, speed, and strenght that was football centric (he had the money for it), but ended up getting another trainer who isn't a football trainer and doesn't know how to train football players. Once again Weber proves how incompetent they are. Keep hiring that same staff over and over again. I don't get how a bad employee stays at Weber and is regurgitated to another area on campus. For instance, the new alumni director. WTF, the worst WSUSA advisor in Weber's history gets a raise and a promotion? You've got to be kidding me.

Hey look, I know there are plans in place, but really, if you are getting money for a specific thing and a donor has a vision, maybe you should take the money and do what is going to be immediately best for the program and school not stick to something you don't have the funds for nor a solid plan.

Just for the record. I think Jerry Bovee is a stud and that he is doing an excellent job. I just heard these things and thought they needed to be known. I believe in transparency and I think that is the best way to run an organization of value. Also, along with Jerry I think that Paul, Will, and a number of other folks up on the hill are doing phenomenal jobs.
