Montana, Weber, and UND are pretty good teams.

Montana State just struggles to compete. They're going to have to modify their defense a lot before next week. They play such a deep zone; their LBs drop about 12 yards deep and leave the underneath routes wide open. Their CBs play way off the ball.

On a better note for them, their offense doesn't look completely inept today. Their big back Newell is a hard nosed runner. Their best chance against Eastern will be to run the ball a lot and try to eat up clock. However, you'd have to think our D plays 8 in the box and tries to take away the line of scrimmage. They play a good bit like UNI.

I was going to post something similar to this. I'd also add that the bottom half of our conference is pretty bad. To compound the issue, the BSC scheduling is a mess. It's possible that even if we win out, best we could hope for is a tie. If we drop a game to the grizzz it could be an even bigger travesty. I'm kind of glad we are moving to a nine game schedule with the addition of Idaho.

Sac St. has got to be the worst team in the conference. Getting blown out 41-0 and it's not even half time.

Yet they beat Montana State...

Yep, but I tend to think that game was somewhat of an anomaly. Sac has been completely hapless every game outside of that one. Much more so than MSU.

Montana has a lot of talent and are playing good football. For my money, CP is next, so wish we would have gotten a pass on them this season. Weber's OL looked good today, but haven't seen them against any other team besides MSU. Still think UND is an average team and would expect Weber and NAU to hand them home losses. Time will tell. EWU and Montana are the cream of the BSC crop and that game will be epic :D

Newell has a bad left wheel, still has a little power but no speed. Lots of pain had to go to side line quite often. I think Root is wishing they did not have this game next week. It is not going to be pretty. Everyone will get to play including QB's.

Idaho beats New Mexico State by 32. How unbearably bad is the Sun Belt? If you took out the top 3 programs- App State, GA Southern, and Troy--- this would be about the seventh best FCS conference. Even with those schools, it would be no better than about fourth.

I am glad it's on Root so I can watch without the intermittent streaming issues. Hope our team got healed up this week and is ready for the short trip to Bozeman. Looking for some focus and strong finish this week. In other words, "killer instinct".
