The Wildcats had the ball with 34 seconds on the clock with a chance to score 100 points for the first under Coach Rahe, and the first time since the 2001-02 season. But the Wildcats spread the court and held the ball for the final out come.
Standard-Examiner:
In the final minute, after the Wildcats reached 97 points, most of the crowd of 6,255 was on its feet with the fans chanting "100." But with the shot clock off and final seconds ticking away WSU coach Randy Rahe signaled for his team to hold the ball and let the clock run out, a classy move much to the disappointment of the fans.
Deseret News:
The only drama in Saturday's game was whether the Wildcats would score 100 points. They reached 97 with 1:16 to go, and were encouraged by fans to go for the century mark, but they held back.
Salt Lake Tribune:
WSU had an opportunity to shoot a three-pointer in the game's final seconds, which would have given the Wildcats 100 points on the night, but they chose to show mercy and ran out the clock instead.
"That's not us," Hansen said. "We really respect Sacramento State and that's not what we're all about at Weber State."
