• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

'13 Forward Darien Williams

Earlier today Weber St offered the SoCal forward. Here's a piece I put together a couple months back on Darien.

I know that we have been after this kid for more than a year. An offer was probably made last year some time. I think he is high on our list and would be a great addition to our young tallent. The next month or so is a criticle time forn this years recruits. Commitments will be made and some oportunities could dry up. :coffee:

Darien would be a huge steal. His rebounding abilities to me are what sets him apart. 6-7 and averaging over 9 a game against solid competition. Why hasnt he been attacked by recruiters? My biggest concern would be his outside shooting but That isn't a huge concern. What about defense? 13.5 is a nice scoring average. Being a PF I'm guessing his percentage is fairly high. Can he shoot the three?

Okay, so a little reading comp may have cleared up some of my questions/concerns. Sounds like he is a lefty, that he lives in the gym, is developing a right handed game, can really move (gets out into transition), has a mid-range jump shot, and is a rebounding and defensive machine. What isn't to like about this kid!

Sounds to me like he is a little like Stan Rose. The only thing keeping him from being a higher D1 prospect is size and leaping ability. If Stan were two inches taller or had an additional 10 inches on his vertical, he would have been drafted in the NBA. He was a great player for us. I would always take a player like him. Over the years, we have had many in this same situation. They can be very productive players. I hope we get him. :thumb:

Someone on the 2013 recruit thread mentioned that we should keep an eye out for Williams. That the coaches would be offering him. He is definitely an athletic player and a good find.
