2008-09 Basketball Schedule

Neither hoops schedule seems to have been released yet. One could probably extrapolate a bare-bones conference schedule if our Sky mates have released theirs. The same could be true of OOC, but that would be even worse given the vast number of possible opponents. Only a nerd would go through that pain, I'm sure.

:lol:

I would expect that the schedule is going to be released in early August. I'm sure with the new coaching staff there's going to be some delay.

I know that our OOC schedule will include...

USF
UOP
@Santa Clara
UCD
@CSU Bakersfield (?)

It will be interesting if Katz takes the same route Jenkins used to (face the gauntlet of Top 25 teams in the preseason to soften the blow come conference play). Although his methods didn't really work the last couple years.

I would expect to see at least one NAIA opponent and perhaps a DII foe. I'd like to see us play SJSU, FSU, Oregon State, and Boise State in the OOC (all opponents we used to regularly play up until a couple years ago)...
I would also

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if we played Jessup again, though we might do better by replacing them with either UCSC or Bethany.

What I want to know is if that USF is the REAL USF or just the stupid Dons. LOL.

UOP and the Manure Pile are pretty much obligatory. Much bigger than that is probably going to be too big a mouthful this soon. Let's hold off on the Pac-10s of the world for a few years until the Katz magic has a chance to take affect.

Bakerfield is a good program with a nice arena. They have DI aspirations. And have the support, facilities and city backing to do well. Too bad they don't play football.

The Bakersfield JC seems to hold the local college football market in Bakersfield. The JC has a real nice stadium that rivals some lower tier D1 college stadiums.

Couldn't agree more. I hope Katz schedules some games where Sac State might actually have an outside chance of winning them.
