I know we already came out to EWU and exposed the Demon on the Red Turf.
Now its time for the Revenge Tour to end in Frisco.
Hopefully you guys show up and take your beating!!

hahaha.. but seriously, Hope your QB didn't watch Taryn from SDSU last week. OUCH!

Good run by you guys, I was betting that you guys would make it. Pretty much a cake walk!!
Should be a fun few weeks leading up to the game, lets have some fun! :thumb:

PS- the NORTH doesn't forget.

We're gonna need some BISON TEARS ( hot or cold) mugs here pretty soon for all the tear drops and excuses they're gonna have after this ball game.

Just got done watching the NDSU game against SDSU and was impressed for sure, but I feel confident we will be able to score points on this team for sure. Big question for me is how far has our run defense come and will we be able to make stops in the 2nd half.

The most important stat for EWU is winning turnover battle because when we do that we are 50 wins in a row.

On a side note, people always like to give us crap about their eyes hurting after looking at our field but for the love of Mary could their possibly be any more hideous color combination than the God awful green and yellow combo the Bison sport? And, from the logo to the uniform design it is so second rate for such a great program.

That is absolutely true. It is one of the worst, eye gouging uniforms in college football. It's like a John Deere Tractor and a school bus accident.

Cheney is actually farther NORTH than Fargo...

47.48901° N Cheney, WA

46.87591° N Fargo, ND

Left over John Deere paint?

Hey Lakes, welcome back. NDSU looked like a well-oiled machine in the playoffs. Objectively, what do you think NDSU's weaknesses are this year, if any?

I've seen a lot of comparisons between EB3 and the SDSU QB, but I think Barriere is quite a bit more elusive and probably has a stronger arm as well. Either way I NDSU looks like a team that it'll take a monumental effort to beat.

If Barriere plays with the poise and the decisiveness that he did against Maine, Eastern definitely has a shot to win this game.

Curious, NDSU seems to hang onto their game-ending fumble as evidence they got screwed. However, they seem to conveniently forget that they got gifted a TD when we played in Fargo when they fumbled before scoring. Both plays were reviewed.

No disrespect to NDSU; they were a damn fine football then and are an even better team now. But those calls have broken both ways. We’re not talking about a Montana situation where one team ALWAYS gets bogus calls.

But how they got away with murdering a sliding QB in the semifinals escapes me. That is typically a call 100% of the time. Interestingly, a couple of drives later the SDSU QB got all sketched out when scrambling and slid a yard before he made the first down.

I noticed that as well from the SDSU game. I was shocked they didn’t throw the flag. It was a very bad no-call.

Hey Ranger!

To beat NDSU , you spread them out and attack the corners. no 1 has done that, because in order to do so, you need 5 & 7 step drops as a QB for it to develop. NDSUS DL gets to the QB way too quick for that .

On defense, EWU will have to be prepared for power run game and play action off of it. That's dam tough to do.

Yes your QB will scramble , but our LB Jabril Cox will be spying on him all game long like he did vs SDSU.

Familiarity with Frisco really helps NDSU". It's real deflating for the other team to get all excited to be in title game, then walk in and see 95% NDSU fans , it's a Mind F. . Unfortunately. Towson, Jacksonville St both we're beat after the 1st drive because of it

Thanks for the thoughts NDSU fans are taking into the game. Sounds like same old same old from NDSU offense and defense. No mention of the coaching change? Feels like Entz is a cardboard cutout in the Klieman (sp?) mold.

Spread NDSU out sounds like a good idea but hasn't really been an Eastern focus this season with TE usage and running game being what it is. The 3 WR, 1 TE and RB package is what NDSU is going to get. The read/option and RPO are not significantly different from the traditional play action NDSU utilizes. If the coaches see some weakness in NDSU's coverage capabilities, suppose they could employ more WR speed. I liked NDSU's defensive backfield, so not sure this is the play. Did NDSU face a top 20 passing team this season? SDSU was as good as it got and that wasn't pretty against KSU or NDSU. EB3 doesn't need 5 or 7 step drops from the shotgun.

SDSU's QB isn't Barriere. Think Kyler Murray at the FCS level. OK, that's a bit of hyperbole but EB3 is an exciting player running or throwing with a big arm he's learning to control and a set of WR's that even though most Eag fans feel have underperformed is as good as any NDSU has faced. Cox is a player but EB3 has faced some really good LB's this season from Maine and UC Davis twice. If Cox doesn't run sub-4.5... :D (he's a player)

The TFL numbers just don't add up to a dominating DL. Are they strong? Sure. Defend the run well? Certainly. I guess the story for me was the defensive backfield locking the passing game down and giving the DL a lot of time to eventually make a play against Colgate and SDSU. These were games where teams had to go to the passing game to try and catch up. Eastern has faced 4 teams five times (UC Davis twice) that have top 10 TFL numbers. Three of them in the playoffs. NDSU barely cracks the top 50. If NDSU can't get pressure with the front 4, Eastern will test the defensive backfield and establish a running game. Eastern's OL has been very good all year when healthy and they are healthy now.

There is a lot more that could be said. Eastern's D has been as good as it's been since 2010 and has flexed depending on who was available. NDSU is no stranger to injuries and Eastern's D has suffered many. Stick's mobility is big benefit to NDSU and the experience of being in and winning this game certainly favor the bison. I like our defensive backs against all comers... They have faced some very good WR and passers this season, that leaves the defensive front to manage against the rush. No one is stopping every play in this game; might come down to the final possession and special teams.

Go Eags!

Ya. Getting a ton of fans to Frisco is a challenge for a lot of schools. I heard it was 800+ dollar flights from Spokane which prices out a lot of people, and Seattle is a 4 hour drive often through the snow. Luckily I'm coming from Portland and it's about $500.00

I know someone that did drive from Spokane to Dallas in 2010, but it really doesn't make sense to do so. I'm sure that 1,100 mile drive south is pretty awesome for the Bison fans. Lots of Bison flags and thumbs up when passing each other on the freeway I'm assuming.

Good reply lucky. After Xmas we will have to ramp up the discussion more

Merry Christmas!

(I did watch the first halves of all the playoff games for the Bison, no glaring weaknesses and they beat each of those teams a little differently. Stick didn't run against Colgate as example. Fortunately, Eastern being the team they've been all season gives them a chance, certainly need to execute. Easier said than done.)

I'm definitely interested in seeing how the teams game plan for each other, EWU has definitely evolved from both the 2016 and 2017 squads the bizon beat. EWU has been decent enough at stopping the run that I don't think plain smash mouth up the middle running will be adequate.
