Four more players were added to the roster:

QB Edwards will have to sit out a year due to the NCAA transfer rules but I have no idea about the other guys. I would think that Chastain (JC Transfer) and Jenkins will both redshirt as we have tons of WR's but we will have to wait and see. Marshall is a 3 star recruit at LB and will be an incoming freshman. On paper they look like solid recruits. Good job by Sperbeck and Co for brining in more quality players. 8-)

I like how we're hitting up Big Cat for recruits.

Any idea on the parentage for this Chastain kid? Can he be any relation to the best futbol player in US history? LOL.

SD - I was thinking the same but Jenkins comes out of high school as a quarterback with incredible rushing abilitiy. His youtube video is insane.

Picking up two three star players is fantastic. This staff can flat out recruit. Great job guys. (Full disclosure: I've been sleeping with the recruiting coordinator's mother for nearly 36 years, so I'm biased. )

Check out this article about Jemeryn Jenkins. Look at his GPA! Then check out his youtube link below this article! This guy is absolutely a huge talent. Speed, quickness, intelligence and a game changer. Wow, wow, wow! Note how much faster he is than anyone else on the video. No one is even close to his speed.

Silverado's Jenkins signs with Sacramento State

The Dawg strays for another bone ... Victorville Silverado All-CIF-SS quarterback Jemeryn Jenkins has signed a letter of intent to Sacramento State, said former Silverado assistant coach Kris Martinson by e-mail.

Wrote Martinson, who happens to be from the Dawg's hometown: "Jemeryn is a shining example of students excelling academically (3.6 GPA), athletically and becoming a well rounded individual. Just a great kid."

Jenkins attended Columbia Middle School in the High Desert, where Martinson is now a teacher and the athletic director.

"All of the staff at (Columbia) are thrilled for J.J.," wrote Martinson, who added the Hawk star will likely receive a $500 scholarship from the High Desert Athletic League that Columbia competes in, to be matched by some Columbia teachers.

Well, good for Jemeryn Jenkins and Silverado. The oft-maligned school can always use the positive publicity -- as Martinson noted.
