2011 Bracket

Yep, no playoffs for us. I wasn't surprised - one only needs look at Montana's season last year to figure out we'd be left out of the mix. Still doesn't take anything away from how the team fought back from all the adversity they faced this year to finish winning 6 out of their last 7 games.

We'll get 'em next year!

I listened to Jim O'days interview on ESPN and he made it pretty clear that 7 FCS wins is one of the most important things they look at when considering non auto bid teams. They had a list of 8 bubble teams they considered that didn't make it and EWU wasn't on that list.

EWU did have a hell of a year and finishing 6-1 after an 0-4 start shows great character in our players and coaches. These seniors had a heck of a run and won the National Championship, they will be missed. The future does look bright and I think Eastern is primed for another big season next year.

Illinois State got screwed. I hope SHSU, Central Arkansas, TTU, and Eastern f'ing Kentucky all get rolled.

Griz and cats got favorable draws though. They could meet in the semi's.

Fair bracket.

Call it my west coast bias, but I like Montana State vs NDST in the finals. With the Bobcats keeping the title with the Big Sky.

Great potential quaterfinal matchups, with only the NDST game in the quarterfinals not a great watch.

MSU vs. Sam Houston
Montana vs UNI
Georgia St. vs App St.
Memo to Towson, bring cow bells, they're like cryptonite.

Those are some games worth watching.

Ah yes, the great Bill Fette conspiracy. Losers blaming the refs is so pedestrian  . Blaming cow bells, now that makes you stand out  .

In fairness to NDST, they had a very good team last year, and have an even better team this year. All fan bases have some fans which stand out in a bad way. NDST is just exceptional in standing out with poor fans. It makes it hard to do anything but cheer when they fail.

Couldn't agree more. They are a very impressive program, being ranked #1 and almost finishing with an undefeated season during their transitional year. They played on a championship level during the playoffs last year and we were lucky to beat them. They have tremendous fan support and are poised to make a deep run. They remind me quite a bit of the Griz. Every program including ours has some douchebag fans so each can be forgiven for this. That's why I'll be a Griz fan for the rest of this season. But's it's sometimes a guilty pleasure to have a little fun with them too.

More like they were lucky to almost beat us. We gift-wrapped 5 turnovers for them in the second half.

And you better be talking about BF.

Nah, I wasn't thinking of any of our posters. I just think it's silly to hate on entire fan bases based on the words of anonymous message board personalities. In fact these are the types that typically make message boards more entertaining. But come to think of it you most certainly would qualify for that among certain fan bases and you might be the main reason EWU is hated by more than a few on CS.com. Of course I'm sure that's a badge of honor. 8-)

It is silly to hate an entire fanbase based on a couple fans like lakesbison and JBB, but a large portion of NDSU fans are just as pretentious and naive. The sad part is that with those two it's not schtick. I guess that makes me the bigger dick because I actively try to piss people like that off.  :D

Nice use of the king. :D

Delaware also had 6 D-I wins (7-4 overall) so it'd be hard to justify us getting in and leaving them out.
