Sacramento State received a verbal commitment Monday from Jake Geringer, Newbury Park HS. Geringer is a two star recruit listed at 6'3'' and 200 lbs. with a 3.8 GPA. His junior year he passed for 2250 yards with 22 TD's and 4 INT. Jake was at the game against Weber and like what he saw.

This kid looks like a pure pro-style stud! Everything I can find on him is great! Let's hope he actually makes it through with us to the signing period. Maybe some good news about the WAC will keep him around...

Jake was being recruited by Arizona, Notre Dame, Oregon, Oregon State, San Diego State, USC, UCLA, and Washington.... We were his first offer though...

I'm sure he was intrigued at our growth, new facilities, and the ability to RS next year and be a four-year starter (hopefully at a WAC school) with Fleming graduated....
 
Kid passed for almost 500 yards last week and 4 TDs! :lol:

In Geringer’s video, he looks like he’s got a good arm and can move when he needs to. Kudos to him for committing months ago, sticking with it, and enrolling early. Sac needs that type of dedication. He must be a player Sperbeck really wants if he landed him that early, and grooming QBs is supposed to be one of his strengths. I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do in a couple years. Go Sac!

I spoke with one of Sperbeck's uncle's last night at the basketball game and he asked me what I thought about getting Geringer. I told him he looks like he could be real good. He said they were real excited about getting him, so they must have some big expectations too.
