2011 wins and losses

How do you like your schedule?
Which games do you feel you should and will win, and which are losses, thus what will your final results be?

Call me crazy.... but I think we have an 8 win season.... possibly 9 wins with a first round playoff win. That includes a win against either Wyoming or Utah State. (A little of a homer pick I know but we have had so many close upsets I think we'll finally snag one out of 2 poo-sauce BCS teams) I think this year's team is going to really surprise the Big Sky much like the 2008 team did. Hoke will be known as the Tim Tebow of the Big Sky Conference next year. A lot of young talent that got experience last year. O-Line headlined by Oram and D-Line with the Beastman are strengths to the team. Linebackers are solid. Webb is an athlete, Morales is the strongest linebacker in the Big Sky, and Mo is a UofU transfer. Defensive backs are fast and Weber's corners are always talented. Booker is Taiwan Jones version 2.0, with a lot of depth to back him up. I personally have seen the talent at the WR core. I think Weber should be this year's darkhorse team to win the BSC. All BSC games are in Weber's favor with the exception of a tough road game at E. Wash. I still think Montana will be down... Pflugrad's time may be shorter than expected. Montana went away from the power running game that has made them dominant for so many years... Weber matches up well with spread offenses due to playing man defense 60-70% of the time. So yes, call me crazy but I see 8-3 with losses at either Wyoming or USU, E. Wash and a gimme bad game somewhere in there. Makes them 6-2 in conference play which would probably be a tie for 2nd place.

I think an 8 win season is a real possibility, and depending how the ball bounces, maybe a 9 or 10 win season. One snap and clear...... I feel the Oline and Dline will be the cat's meow for the Big Sky. Hoke is going to be solid at QB, looking for a RB to come out of summer training with some separation besides Booker. Morales is going to put the hurt on when he is on the field, and Webb is no slouch either.

I see a lot of upside to the team, but it comes down to playing as a team, win or lose, just stick together; one team, one snap, one game, one win, one championship......GO CATS!!!!

2011 is going to be interesting. Weber has the potential to really suprise the Sky, however, Weber could fall flat on their faces and struggle this fall. I think the Cats will shock the Sky, just like 2008. Mac and co have done a great job building up the program and bringing in talent.

Yes, the Big Sky is a talented conference, I don't think the 2011 champion will be undefeated, and it'll be tough for a young, somewhat unexperienced team (Skill players), to win the conference crown. However, Weber's Oline and defense, 9 starters (15 overall) is going to be good/dominate.

From what I saw of the Spring Scrimmage I was really excited about the future of our team. A lot of Big Sky fans aren't giving Weber much of a chance this upcoming fall. MSU, EWU, SAC, UM, and PSU are returning a lot of experienced players. But, and I'm glad that N.Ogden brought this up, Weber has 15 starters coming back. Hoke played a lot at the end of last season, as well as Booker (was he a starter? If so, thats 16 and 17). Raught, Walker, Kamana, and Kehano all have significant experience at the WR position, and the OL is the best in the Sky. WEBER LOST 2 Defensive Starters from a squad that got stronger as the season went on. Most importantly the DL is getting their captain back. I like everyone overlooking the Cats.

When Mac's teams do well is when we have a dominant Running attack. The way the O-line is shaping up, we may just have that for 2011. You could throw me in there as the RB and get 100 yards. We won't need outstanding runningbacks, we just need someone who won't fumble and doesn't trip on his own feet. I think the same thing goes for recievers. Hoke just needs to handle the ball with no turnovers. From what I've seen, he'll do fine. To me, the real question is the OC. :coffee:

I agree with you, I really do feel that we'll have a solid group in both trenches; but the glaring factor will be the OC. As I watched the games last year, the Red Zone became the Dead Zone......very frustrating. On a good note, I love coming in as the underdog, and everyone looking past us....that's when the nasty comes out and by the time they realize what hit them, it'll be the 4th quarter! auryte!!!

Amen to that brother.

THis Weber State team will have the potential to be great, but thats just it, they "have" the potential. Its up to them to work together and bring that potential to life. Weber has a difficult schedule, but EVERY game on that Schedule is winnable, EVERY GAME. The Hardest game will be at EWU, but I think Weber is just the team to break EWU's winning streak on thier home carpet.

I also believe this Weber State team will suprise a lot of people, and finish 9-2, or 8-3 and no lower than 7-4.

7-4 at best for Weber.

Utah State, Wyoming, EWU, Montana, Montana State, and SUU are all better teams at this point, IMO. Weber will one or two of those games, but not three. Sac State proved they're no slouches last year either, and could finally turn the corner. Should be a fun year in the Sky... it's a lot more top heavy than in years past.

The 2011 Big Sky Champs wont be undefeated this season. The Sky is going to be really competitive and balanced. Of course, I think that Eastern and State are the two schools that have the best chance, at the moment, of winning the conference (Yes, Weber, in my opinion is definitely being overlooked and is a lot better than most people think...DARKHORSE of the conference) due to the personnel they have returning. SAC is also right there, and could surprise a bunch of people this season.

I'm sure someone has already mentioned this, but Weber has 16 returning starters.
