2012 Big Sky position rankings: Quarterbacks

4. MIKE HOKE, SR., WEBER STATE 2011: 62.6%, 2,080 yds, 19 TD, 4 INT, 150.2 efficiency, 6 rush TD. THE BUZZ FOR 2012: It's never easy replacing a record-setter, but Hoke filled Cameron Higgins' shoes quite well last season. Hoke had a great touchdown to interception ratio (19 to 4) while breaking in a new crop of wideouts. He has many of the same attributes Higgins did, all the way down to a similar throwing motion. Hoke missed spring practice but should be healthy after undergoing offseason shoulder surgery. The only question is whether he can adjust on the fly to interim head coach Jody Sears after John L. Smith bolted Ogden for Arkansas without coaching a game.

I have lost all respect for the Billings Gazette. WTH!! Kyle Pardon hasn't even taken a snap in well over a year and is a new QB, at a new school, in a new system. Denarius McGee...well that makes a little more sense, but still every publication in America has Sorenson as the top QB in the Sky, if not FCS (he is the 1st team Pre-season All American QB), but the tools at the Gazette have him as the 3rd best in the Sky? Hoke at 4 is good though.

What is Weber's QB depth chart, or what should it be? I like Jordan, but I'm not very confident with him throwing the ball. Most INT's that have happened in the Spring and Fall, not to mention in one game in Missoula last year were thrown by him. Could Maraz jump him. We have a good one that'll RS in Jadrian.

As an EWU fan I have no problems with his choice (provided Padron delivers) :-D

BLM did struggle the first few games of his first year but towards the end I'd say he was the best in the Big Sky, if not FCS (and some FBS). Padron is the guy who took BLM's spot at SMU and put up even better numbers at SMU than BLM did. I think he deserves to be in the top 3 at least.
