we have open dates on sept 15th, and oct 27th

we need one more game and it will most likely not be vs another BSC team. No other Sky team has Oct 27th open, then look at the teams that we dont play (MSU, PSU, UND, NAU) and wonder who's available,

MSU, I believe they play @ Drake on the 15th = nope
PSU, plays @ North Dakota as an OOC game on the 15th = nope
UND, see above = nope
NAU, I cant seem to find anything about thier schedule, according to bigskyconf.com they have the 15th open, whether they have filled that I dont know. I dont think it will be NAU, I dont think they would come to Ogden 2 years in a row, unless they had no choice, most likely = nope

So most likely it will be some one from a different conference. Anybody have any ideas on who? Anybody hear any rumblings?

If we schedule down, I might just shoot somebody

With the Great West gone, I have little faith that Weber will be able (or will even try) to get another FCS team to come here for a non-conference game. I am fully expecting a lower division team will be scheduled, meaning the only chance Weber will have of making the playoffs is by getting the auto bid. :wall:

Weber might be in for a four home game season next year.

I also heard that BYU wanted to move the Weber game to Oct 27. Is that not going to happen?

If Weber State only has a 4-game home schedule or schedules down for its 5th home game, it's really going to make me think twice about renewing tickets or making the long trip up to Ogden for games. I want to support Weber State football but that's so hard to do when I feel like they aren't trying to build a successful football program.

Maybe their new coach has some connections and can get another team to make a trip to Ogden on such short notice.

a lot of us think that way and that is why we never see 4 home games. we arent as dumb as ewu what ever reason they had. wsu will do its best to avoid a non-DI especially with 2 FBS games on there. we need 5 home games for season tkts and we want to help the team have a shot at the playoffs because 2 FBS alone screws us over from the get go but we keep hearing we have to have them because of the $$.

another point about season tkts is it wouldnt even be any cheaper to buy a GA season tkt if there wasnt a 5th game. Plus with the new coach they will probably be trying to push for more season tkt holders, this will be a great yr to get season tkts esepcailly for those who have never had them.

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels that way.

Maybe once nice chage we'll see from the new coach is stopping the two guarenteed games against the big boys every year. I understand why Weber does it ($$$) but I'd rather do the one guarenteed game and work on building a successful football program that will attract fans to Stewart Stadium. I think part of that is getting qualtiy home games and getting to the playoffs every year. The two payoff games seem like a step back from that IMO.

I agree, winning and getting to the playoffs is the only way to build a fanbase, and when we are constantly playing up we are really hurting our chances at making the playoffs, I dont care if it's another road game, lets play another FCS team instead.

I think the best solution to the issue is to drop one FBS from the schedule and to add another FCS game. With two open spots in the OOC, the AD should be able to find one FCS team willing to come to Ogden this season, with Weber traveling to another FCS teams place in the same season. A traditional Home and home. Most, if not all FCS teams would be game for such an arrangement. For instance, instead of playing Fresno, Weber plays Drake in Iowa and has USD (South Dakota) visit Ogden. Then in 2013, Weber travels to South Dakota and then has Drake visit Ogden (this could happen a lot easier in 2013, because Weber will have a 12 game schedule and could still schedule 2 FBS games; if Utah is really on the schedule, they better be paying us 500K, no discounts for Dr. Hill). I'm thinking Weber sould be getting a pretty good payout from Byu next season and so should drop Fresno.

It is all about winning games and building up our fan base. Home playoff games and getting to the national title would do that. Also, Weber needs to get their new marketing guru doing something. I'm absolutely irate seeing BYU Shit in Ogden. That is totally unacceptable for Weber to allow that to happen. I know the marketing guy is new, but frankly, the honeymoon is over. Get your A$$ to work. With perhaps the best basketball team in a decade and I have seen nothing. Also the halftimes have really sucked so far.

I love this idea. I just worry that it's too late to back out.

Again, this would be great but worry that it's too late in the year to make this happen. Hope not. Would love to see another FCS school come to town.

Heck if Northern Colorado can get Northern Iowa to come to Greeley, Weber should be able to get them to Ogden, would love to see some Southland teams come to Ogden.

Or how espn would say Odgen

I won't say much other than that scheduling is much more difficult than you all are trying to make it. We have been trying to find an OCC FCS game for over a year, and, surprisingly enough, everyone wants to play a home game. There are still discussions ongoing on how we fill our last game for next year. No matter what happens, the Fresno game will take place.

Jerry Bovee has said numerous times that he wants to get to a place where we play only 1 FBS money game, but that depends a lot on budget and the team we can schedule. Most schools able to pay the amount we'd need to play just one FBS game schedule several years out, so it's a process.

I know, but it's fun as a fan to speculate who will fill that last spot, and hope that its at least a Div 1 team
