3 Hornets were drafted last week.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sacramento State senior second baseman Andrew Ayers was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the 30th round of the 2013 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.

Ayers was the third Hornet selected during the day, joining teammates Justin Higley (Oakland A's, 13th round) and Tanner Mendonca (Minnesota Twins, 17th round). Sacramento State has now had five players drafted in the last two seasons and 21 in the Div. I era.
