Dorian Pickens - OFFERS (Arizona St., Weber State, Northern Arizona, Boston College) INTEREST (St. Mary’s, Colorado State, U of A, Drake, California, USC, Indiana, UTEP, Washington, Oregon, San Francisco, University of Houston, Colorado, UNC, Syracuse, Washington State, Oregon State, Boise State, Montana, Harvard, Rice)

Jared Stutzman

Brekkot Chapman from Roy High school can be added to this list. I don't know if the Cats have definitely offered, but he is on our interest list.

Dorian Pickens is going to be really tough to get.

2014 recruits? seriously? are these kids even old enough to drive yet? Who gives a flying poo about 2014 Recruits? I don't give a damn until a kid actually suits up for the Cat's.

2014 recruiting thread, child please!!

2014 recruiting thread, child please!!

Stutzman has been on the radar since a year ago so 2011. he will graduate in 2014, if he is LDS he could possibly go on a mission in '15 and '16 then play as a freshman in 2017 unless he was to redshirt then 2018. rahe's current contract expires july 1, 2017. but most coaches recruiting this player probably well expire before then.

so if he even came to weber it is possible he would be talked about on this forum for 7 years before playing.

As crazy as it sounds Stutzman could be wearing a weber jersey in 2 years! 2014 players are officially Juniors in high school now and in 2 years many players will be starting their college careers. Some will redshirt a year, some like Stutzman will probably go on a mission sometime in there, but 2014 is not too young to recruit and offer. I watched Marcel Davis and Quincy Bair get offered and actually made verbal commitments to Utah State younger than the current class of 2014 is. It appears that there is a lot of competition for these players and schools that want them have to go after them young. Congrats to Weber for being on top of this. Wait til their seniors in high school and most of the good ones will be long gone. So instead of critizing the coaches for offering a kid that wont suit up for a few years I say congratulate them for getting on the stick early and competiting for these kids when others are. Most of the good 2014 players already have multiple offers. So if Stutzman is not going to suit up til 2017 I say that is fine- I would hope he just continues to get better each year and when he finally comes to weber he starts out older, bigger, stronger, and hopefully better due to just being older.

Don't get it twisted sir, I wasn't criticizing the coaches for doing their jobs, I was making fun of FANS who are getting all hot and bothered about 2014 recruiting. Thank jebus I have a life and don't scour the net looking for info on Jr's in high school.

I think that Weberdog missed the point of "Larry" and "catcat". The point they were trying to make was:
why should we as fans care and waste time on speculating about recruits who MAY come here in 2014 and then not play until maybe 2017. They are NOT criticizing the coaching staff in any way. They are making fun of those of us on here who are worrying about recruits that far into the future.

You have your opinion, which you are entitled to and I have mine that I'm entitled to. If you don't like something you (as in one person) dont have to replied to it. We all out own unique interests. I think it's fun getting an idea of where our team is headed and what Webers reputation is among recruits. Also, recruits do look at fan forums and it can be a tool used by our coaches. No, not a major one but still a tool. Every litle bit helps.

It's a fan forum, jackasses. It's used to discuss things fans care about. Things like scholarship offers that have been made to high school recruits. If an offer has been made, regardless of how old the kid is, it's news worthy and worth discussing. If you don't care then don't open the topic, don't read it, and most of all, don't waste your time criticizing it.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL. You Sod.

I read on the Aggie forum that Brekkot Chapman from Roy High School has offers from Utah State and Utah and that in all likelihood he will be receiving more in the coming weeks. I really hope, since Weber wasn't mentioned, that Rahe and Co. are taking care of our backyard and that the 6-9 Chapman has been offered a scholarship.

Yes, the moron who wrote the article for the Trib was Kyle Goon. Goon is a jackass that never mentions Weber. Remember the Loveridge saga last year, Goon never mentioned Weber as a serious candidate for Jordan's services. Even after he was down to three schools and Weber was one of them. It doesn't matter what Goon says, as long as Weber has offered. Chapman might be the best player out of Weber County in the last decade and it would be a huge shame if Weber, the local school, hasn't thrown their hat into the ring.

You would assume that the Wizard is pursuring Chapman, but nothing is for sure. Remember, we have a 6-10 player who will be back from his mission by then. But, who knows if Chapman isn't a mission kid too. I've heard that Chapman is quite the player. But, I trust Rahe. I'm sure he has a plan.

Add Brigham Young to the list of schools that have offered Chapman. No mention of an offer from Weber.

Is the 6-10 kid Van Pelt? He will be gone by the time Chapman can play. Maybe Weber has a really great shot at getting Stutzman and so they aren't too worried and feel he will grow another inch or two. Who knows.

I'm pretty sure Chapman is also an automatic mission kid too. He won't be playing till the 2016 or 2017. He is a hot commodity in Utah though. USU, Utah, BYU have all offered and he is in our backyard. I know that really doesn't mean much. Weber hasn't been all that successful at getting Weber county talent. Nic Sparrow is the best local (Weber County) player Weber has had that I can remember. I know that the Cats lost out on Neal Geddess (Ogden High went to USU), Matt Evans (Weber High went to USU), Cameron Koford (Fremont High went to Utah), Mike Punzey (Roy High went to USU), some Heslop guy (Ogden High went to BYU), but Weber did get Anthony Jackson (BL).

You think Weber missed out on Evans, Puzey, & Koford? if you add all 3 of them together you might get to 100 lbs. A Jackson was a walk-on. I don't think I would refer to the 3 above as Weber county talent. Evans played all of 5 minutes @ USU.
