"Washington State has now completed their non-conference schedule in 2014. After opening with Rutgers, the Cougars travel to Nevada and then host Portland State of the FCS."

The Washington schools love us. They are a breath of fresh air. Their example is a more healthy example.

Let us foster this relationship well. We also need to foster relationships with Lewis & Clark and Reed College. Perhaps through rugby.

Nice! I was wondering when we would get a game with the Cougs again.

PSU has played the following Pac-12 teams: UO, OSU, UW, WSU, Cal, ASU and Utah. We have yet to play: Stanford, USC, UCLA, Colorado and Arizona. I wonder if there will ever be a day when PSU plays USC? ;)

With the football program needing to be self sufficient next year, I wonder if we'll see a third FBS game with an eleven game schedule. I can't see us scheduling a home game against something like a Southern Oregon type program since with our low attendance, is probably a a money loser.

Home:
UC Davis
Northern Arizona
Idaho State
Eastern Washington

Away:
@Oregon State
@Washington State
@North Dakota
@Weber State
@Montana State
@Sacramento State

Not a good sign when a school's fans are wondering if they will only schedule 11 games next year, or possibly play 3 FBS games?

As has been said before, this self-sufficient thing is going to be wonderful for the program. :thumbdown:

I'm curious to see if this has an impact on recruiting.

Based on this I see it this way:

OSU - L
Open - W (probably a DIII)
WSU - L
Cal Poly - toss up
Open - bye
UC Davis -W
ND - W
NAU - L
WSU - W
ID ST - W
MT ST - L
Sac St - W
EWU - L

Looks like possible 7-5 overall and 5-3 in league

Damn, that's a vicious schedule. Your AD does your team no favors. Oh well, the truth is Oregon State and Wazzu are beatable, despite it requiring a Herculean effort for an FCS team.

Frankly, though, I think it is myopic of an AD to schedule like that. Our guy at Eastern does the same thing. It's almost like they concede that they're not good enough at their jobs to drive the revenue side, so they look for the bodybag cash.

Welcome to west coast FCS football.

Noticed the 2014 schedule for home games is listed TBA. Hope the university didn't cut more money from the program or athletics so the games have to be played at a smaller venue. Seems like the President & Vice Presidents of PSU are doing their best to get rid of football and athletics. I'm amazed the athletic department has been able to hold the program together. Anyone know where the team will be playing this year?

Potty - The games WILL be played at PGE Park/Providence Park or whatever it is that it's called nowadays. The "TBA" is there because the TIME for each game is not yet determined. This has NOTHING to do with the PSU Administration and EVERYTHING to do with the PSU Football team and MLS Timbers soccer.
