2015 Schedule

PAC12 released their schedules for next year. One thing that stands out to me is that PSU only has one PAC12 game scheduled. They go back to Washington State again. So, either the football program found about $500,000 somewhere, or we better hope they have another FBS game in the works. Anyone have any info about other non-conference game for next year?

Here it is so far...

Sept. 5th @ Washington State
Sept. 26 @ Idaho State
Oct. 3 NORTH DAKOTA
Oct. 10 TBA
Oct. 17 MONTANA STATE
Oct. 24 @ Cal Poly
Oct. 31 MONTANA
Nov. 7 @ Northern Colorado
Nov. 14 SOUTHERN UTAH
Nov. 21 @ Eastern Washington

I've been hearing about some Mountain West schools, mainly because of us having both Montana and Montana State at home (both fans travel well and good alumni bases around Portland). I've heard Boise State and Nevada primarily, or possibly UNLV.

The October 10th game is North Texas, everyone. Denton, Texas is supposed to be a nice area.

Average football attendance: 21,510.

Sounds like a game good for development.

Tough schedule with the three best teams in the Big Sky as well as two upper division if the game in Texas pans out. Success won't be able to me measured by wins alone.

And, the September 26 game against Idaho State has been moved up to September 12. One of the next two weeks will be a bye, with a game against a lower Division school thrown in, probably September 19.

Looks like the lower division game is Western.

Going to have to go 6-2 in conference to get any consideration for the playoffs, unless we can knock off one of the DI's. 7-1 for serious consideration, but 7-1 would put us in the conference title mix (and the auto-bid).

2015 PORTLAND STATE FOOTBALL SCHEDULE

SHOULD WIN/MUST WINS (Need to go 4-0 here)

Sept. 26 WESTERN OREGON at Providence Park W
Oct. 3 NORTH DAKOTA* at Hillsboro Stadium W
Nov. 7 at Northern Colorado* W
Nov. 14 SOUTHERN UTAH* at Providence Park W

COULD WINS (could go O-5, 1-4, 2-3, 3-2, 4-1, 5-0 here)

Sept. 12 at Idaho State* W\L
Oct. 17 MONTANA STATE* at Providence Park W\L
Oct. 24 at Cal Poly* W\L
Oct. 31 MONTANA* at Providence Park W\L
Nov. 21 at Eastern Washington* W\L

LUCKY TO WINS (probably go 0-2 here)

Sept. 5 at Washington State L
Oct. 10 at North Texas L

If we can go 4-0 against the weaker teams, 2-3 against the strong teams, and likely 0-2 against the big schools, then 6-5 is a sign of a good team on the right track. We've got to go probably 8-3, or at least 7-4 to make the playoffs. That means Winning three or four of five from ISU,MSU,CP,MONT,EW. That will be pretty darn hard.
