2015 Transfers

Midmajor??

Weber isn't the only program thats seeing a wave of transfers. EWU, Montana State and Portland State have announced some very significant transfers the last couple of weeks.

Going to make for a very interesting season.

Seems like everyone is leaving Portland State. They are losing their 3-Star recruit and Braxton Tucker who when healthy was almost impossible to stop.

It seems as though the numbers are growing every year. I have mixed emotions about it. I expect some sort of rule changes will be coming up. Both players and programs need protections and well thought out rules. :coffee:

I think its funny when people poop their pants when someone on our team transfers. It's just part of D1 basketball and happens to every program. I think Golden and Costen are good guys and players, but it just didn't work out. I'm sure the coaches are doing all they can to help them find a school that will fit their style and then wish them the best. We will see one more leave the team. I have a gut feeling on who it is, but don't want to assume until we know for sure. When a main player leaves, that's a different story. EWU, Idaho and PSU are having some issues. I wonder what's going on up there? Milcovic, Wiggs, Sweeny and Braxton are really good players. EWU will still be decent, but that's 4 starters gone for them. OUCH!! PSU is worse. I wonder how long until Gelvig is gone up there. Idaho is losing their best returning player too.

What you almost never know is if it is a players choice or a coaches choice. Sometimes we are blaming a coach when they really should be commended. It swings both ways. When playing time is not an issue, it is an indication that there is some other problems beneath the surface. Those problems can be coach centric, player centric, or a combination.

It's easy to look at the transfer list and think, 'WOW, that guy could be a star at my school'. I know that I look at that list and see a large number of 3 and 4 star guys who are not working out at the school where they signed. There is some potential talent out there. What you don't know is the underlying problems that caused the transfer. It could be nothing or it could be a deal killer. Any way you cut it, I'm sure that many of those kids wind up with very few options. That is why some highly talented players can wind up in the least expected places.

Some guys that come to mind, from the past, Rico Washington, and Stan Rose. There were others, I'm just not recalling all of the names right now.
