Here's how the schedule is going to look next year. Home games in bold.

9/1 Utah State

9/10 South Dakota

9/17 Sacramento State

9/24 UC Davis

10/8 Portland State

10/15 Montana State

10/22 Southern Utah

10/29 North Dakota

11/5 Northern Arizona

11/12 Cal Poly

11/19 Idaho State

We won't be facing Eastern Washington, Montana or Northern Colorado. Given this schedule I'm predicting 6-7 wins next year if we continue to improve from this year.

Does that make 3 years in a row of Sac St not being a league game?

Yes, I believe so, it was arranged between Sac St & WSU as non-conference games...better than scheduling a non-conference game vs. a Div II in my opinion. The best schedule would be matching up with home/away games with a non-BSC FCS team, like they did with NDSU. :twocents:

Personally, I don't want to think about next year, especially since the Cats still have two games left to play this year. I want to see the Cats pick up another couple wins this season so that they can end the year on a winning streak, with a winning record, and something to motivate the players to keep them working hard in the off season. Also, it doesn't hurt recruiting to end the season headed in the right direction.

But, there is a lot of possibility in the 2016 schedule. I think the Big Sky is a very balanced league and we are seeing that this season with PSU and SUU leading the conference rankings. Who would have thought that either team could by vying for a conference crown? It is fun seeing different teams at the top. Just proves how good the conference is and how much parity there is. Next year, to me, it is wide open. I really like this schedule and can see success.

The questions we need to ask ourselves are: Who do we lose and how will that affect us? And, what can we do to improve in the areas that we are weak?

8 wins? That would be magical.

Weber State 2016 opponents (record vs) (Last played, result) (streak)

@ Utah State: (1-13) (70-6, L) (L-7)
@ South Dakota: (0-0-1) (21-21, T) (T-1)
Sacramento State: (12-8) (32-14, W) (W-1)
@ UC Davis: (2-2) (23-3, W) (W-1)
Portland State: (20-14) (30-17, L) (L-2)
Montana State: (20-30-1) (23-13, L) (L-5)
@ Southern Utah: (15-7) (44-0, L) (L-3)
@ North Dakota: (2-0) (25-24, W) (W-2)
Northern Arizona: (26-24) (52-36, L) (L-2)
Cal Poly: (5-6) (30-24) (L-3)
@ Idaho State: (40-15) (35-14, W) (W-1)

Looks like we have some losing streaks that need to have an ending put to them
Utah State -7 (not likely)
Portland State -2
Montana State - 5 (have only won 3 of the last 18 and last win in Ogden was in 96)
Southern Utah -3 (this one really needs to end)
Northern Arizona -2
Cal Poly -3

We have a good shot at ending some of these losing streaks since all but two of the above are at home, doesn't mean they will be easy, cause they wont be, PSU, NAU, MSU and Cal Poly are all good football programs right now and will be tough for Weber to beat, throw some tough road games vs South Dakota, Southern Utah and North Dakota, into the mix and this team can either do really well...........or not. But it is an overall favorable schedy, and even though hoops isn't technically over yet, I'm stoked for Football to begin again.
