Funny to look back at this topic. Lots of comments that these guys were steals and that this was another excellent recruiting class. 18 months later and 3 of the 5 are already gone after contributing very little or nothing at all.
 agreed!! Personally, I think I drank the purple cool-aid a little too much. I always had my issues with Trevon. I just didn't feel he was a team first type of guy. He is very talented and can really play basketball. Offensively we could have used him a lot this year. However, he wasn't a great defender, or wouldn't play defense fully. In his case, I don't feel it is a lack of ability, but ambition on his part. Heaven's the kid started at one point, and won the 3pt contest. Sometimes a player type just doesn't mix well with the coaches strategy.
Vialen got sick and needs to recover. Home is the best place to do that. The kid can play basketball. Nevertheless, he was brought in as a project and Randy was convinced that he would need two years to really start producing. However, Vialen will get a Euro contract someday and make good money playing basketball.
Lastly, Court...he's the one I feel had the most potential coming out of high school. However, he lost his legs on his mission and hasn't gotten them back. Whenever I watched him playing, I felt that he was running in cement. You could tell he wanted to do something but his body just wasn't allowing him to do it. To me though, I think it was a major disservice to him that Randy even played him this year. No matter what he should have been red shirted. He hasn't even been home a year now, and Randy was expecting him to be all world again after a month. With a red shirt and a full year home, I think he could have contributed more next Fall. With RMs patience can pay off, and I feel with Court more patience needed to be given. I really hope he has a great career at Dixie. The kid has earned it.
Quick thought, I think, as fans, it is more fun and better for the team and program to be positive. Go visit the USU board and watch them Tee off on recruits. It is pretty ridiculous. I like to give the kids an edge and go with a positive angle rather than ripping them apart and tearing them down before they have even hit the floor for the Cats. Getting a scholarship at a DI school proves they are good basketball players (less than 1% of high school basketball players play DI) just the college game is far more competitive and quick. If nothing else, we should applaud them and their achievements and hope that they end up being contributors and if the planets align, stars for the Cats. Better to believe and be positive than to act like a Cougar or Aggie.
