That is a big spread. I hope we can cover it.

Through three weeks conference teams are 14-17 overall vs Non-Big Sky; 7-7 vs FCS (7-2 Home, 0-5 Road); 2-10 vs FBS; 5-0 vs Non-D1.

Two OOC games left: Idaho St at Liberty, Oct 20; Idaho @ Florida, Nov 17.

Sacramento St (2-1) @ Montana (2-1), UM -12.5
Cal Poly (1-2) @ Eastern Washington (2-1), EWU -21
Idaho St (1-1) @ North Dakota (2-1), UND -7
Montana St (2-1) @ Portland St (1-2), MSU -10.5
Southern Utah (0-3) @ Northern Arizona (1-2), NAU -3.5
Idaho (1-1) @ UC Davis (2-1), UCD -11
Northern Colorado (0-3) @ Weber St (2-1), WSU -19.5

I will take all the favorites except NAU. I expect the team down south will be hungry and pissed off at being winless. NAU looked really bad last game.

I'll take Sac even at UM. Sac is probably stronger than anyone thinks and UM isn't nearly as good as people think...., just sayin'. :coffee:

Sacramento State Hornets @ Montana Grizzlies - Montana leads the series overall 19-1 and has won 3 straight. Sacramento State is 0-11 in Missoula and will be playing in Montana for the 3rd straight time. The Hornet offense might be able to exploit the Montana defensive secondary but Im not sure the Hornets have the horses to keep up in Missoula. 31-17 Grizzlies.

Cal Poly Mustangs @ Eastern Washington Eagles - Eastern Washington leads the all time series 7-2 and has won 5 straight in the series. Coming off a disappointing showing against BCS Washington State the Eagles look to bounce back at home against the Mustangs of Cal Poly who are coming off a great OOC home win vs the Brown Bears. If Cal Poly wants any hope of winning in Cheney they must put pressure on GG. If he is allowed time to throw he will pick the Mustangs apart. 40-24 Eagles.

Idaho State Bengals @ North Dakota Fighting Hawks - North Dakota leads the all time series 5-1 and has won 1 in a row in the series. Despite the discrepancy in the W/L column this series has actually been quite competitive. The last 4 matchups have been decided by 7, 6, 3 and 3 points. The Bengals have some good pieces in place on both sides of the ball this year but North Dakota could be a surprise this year coming off an out of nowhere win @ Sam Houston State. I think this game follows the suite it always has before. 28-23 Fighting Hawks (FYI, this game counts as a conference game for Idaho State, but not for UND as they are no longer a member of the Big Sky Conference.)

Montana State Bobcats @ Portland State Vikings - Montana State leads the all time series 20-9 and are winners of 1 straight. It is inconceivable how a team with so many talented athletes could be so bad but Portland State has found a way to do so. And because Portland State refuses to or can build it's own on campus facility they are being pushed to Hillsboro this weekend, not that they had much of a home field advantage to begin with. Montana State should win this game, HOWEVER...They continue to try to find a real Quarterback to lead this team. So far they have been ok, but it could soon come back to bight them. The Bobcat defense however...is pretty good. 35-20 Bobcats

Southern Utah Thunderchickens @ Northern Arizona Lumberjacks - Northern Arizona leads the all time series 11-9 but SUUcks has won 4 straight in the series. Northern Arizona once again puts a black eye on the Big Sky conference with their incredibly pathetic showing @ Missouri State. I can understand losing your quarterback but being outscored 40-8 against a team that was picked to finish 9th out of 10 in the MVFC and won a whopping 2 games last year is inexcusable. Unless the ship is righted big time this might actually be Sours' last season at NAU. The team down south will go into this game beaten, battered and ready for a win. 38-28 Chickens

Idaho Vandals @ UC Davis Aggies - Idaho won the only game in this series back in 97. Hawkins is building something special there in Aggie land. They have arguably the best QB/WR tandem in the Big Sky. Doss is killing it as suspected and Maier has had some good numbers. Idaho on the other hand has not looked good at the start. After an epic beatdown at the hands of Fresneck, Idaho came home to play D-II Western New Mexico...and despite the final score of 56-10 it took Idaho 4 quarters to put the daggers into WNM. The offense looked stagnant early and the defense struggled to stop WNM playmakers. Idaho has had 2 weeks to prepare for Hawkins and the Aggies, but I don't think it'll make much difference here. 41-30 Aggies

Northern Colorado Bears @ Weber State Wildcats - The Wildcats lead the all time series 8-1 and have won 2 straight. Weber State is coming off one of their most defensively dominant performances ever as they sacked South Dakota's QB 8 times and forced 3 turnovers in their win over the Coyotes. But offensive inconstancy has plagued this team from the start, despite showing glimpses of what they can be the offense still struggled to sustain drives, going 1-13 on 3rd down. Northern Colorado believes they might have something special as the Bears are a senior laden team. So special in fact that they built an all FCS schedule for this season in hopes of giving themselves a better chance at the playoffs. That schedule so far however has not helped them as they come into this contest losing all three of their games, two of which were at home. Their second road game comes against the team that beat the team that gave the Bears their first road loss. 31-13 Wildcats

Great post WILDCAT.

I do agree with everything you are saying there and my brain tells me you are 100%. However, my gut tells me that Sac will get the job done.

This is the first week of league play and everybody's championship dreams are on the line. Let the fun begin.

Surprise of the day was Idaho St going on the road and beating N Dak. Good win for them. And E Wash putting 70 on Poly, a team Weber struggled with, and winning by 53. If Weber doesn't improve significantly in the next three weeks, E Wash will come in here and roll em.

My rankings after Week 4
