2019/20 student athletes

Since the start of the 2019/20 sports year Mark Orr twitter page goes as follows 17 tweets about football ( as it should, they had a great year! Not only for victories but other football successes). The page shows only two tweets of basketball, none of which has anything to do with the team winning 14 games ( that is 14 missed opportunities to promote and sing the praises of the program. The team has won 14 games.)
I think this is pretty telling that Orr is not supporting the student athlete's who put in a incredible amount of time and deserve to be recognized. Also poises the question does he want basketball to have success or to fail?

Sh.......... that silence you hear is Orr twitter page despite these fine young athlete's winning 15th game of the year. Only 4th time in Division 1 era for basketball to win 15 games or more.

This is the stupidest and weakest attack against Orr the “Keep Katz” kontingent has made yet. A quick scroll through Orr’s twitter shows that he isn’t a heavy tweeter (6 tweets in 2020) with most of them being retweets from the various Hornet athletic and Big Sky accounts, one of which is a pinned tweet featuring a feel good story featuring men’s hoops. Please stop with this nonsense.

So he can retweet about football success's but not basketball? Maybe he has only 6 in 2020 because he doesn't want to give basketball credit?

Lets see.....successful football program turns 15,000+ in attendance.
or
Perpetual sub .500 team gets 649 in attendance.

Who gets more pub?

I think he should tweet more about water polo or soccer. s/

A top 2 or top 3 PR potential, why not? It costs nothing, and might help recruiting & fan interest.

The only thing clear and obvious thus far is that Mark Orr has a lot more to do with his day than does ‘grizz32’.

Perhaps I’m crazy, but I’m pretty certain someone with an anti-Orr, pro-Katz agenda would have a lot more success getting his attention sending a direct message via any of the various social media platforms for which he has an account rather than spamming this site — which he’s far less likely to stumble across or read.

Or, that same person could easily phone his office at Sac State or send an email or just visit him on campus.

Just sayin.....

And you making it all about football is exactly why no California teams in Division 2 have football anymore. Since Title 9 was implemented AD have been forced to care about all sports. If all sports are not treated equally Sac St will soon be in the same boat. All it takes is one title 9 lawsuit. I am sure Orr and the football Coach will be gone by then so that will cause a hole new problem.
Fact that was stated by Joe Davidson Sac St basketball has the worst facilities in Division 1 basketball.
Fact Katz has 3 of 4 top winning season's in D1 for Sac St including greatest season in D1 era.
Fact ( according to broadcast from Sat) Sac St has highest graduation rate in the country over last 12 years.
fact only public California School recognized for APR.
Fact Katz was mid major and Big Sky ( co) Coach of the year.
Fact only time I saw Orr ( who stood in the corner during the game) cheer on Sat was during Senior night.
Fact Sat was standing room only and it looks awful to bring in metal bleachers for people to sit in.
fact I have attended at least 50 home games over last 12 years and many other's at Conference tournament.
Fact I can guarantee you I have lost more sleep over this debacle than all the other posters combined.
Fact this year's players have not gotten the praise they deserve from AD. And that is the biggest fact of them all. Shame on him!

As bad as Hornet Gym is, I'd actually consider Riverside's gym worse. And I'd even posit the Thundercr@p at Jim Rome Community College as worse, too....

That in itself is pathetic.

The transition from DII to DI is always rough; rougher for the non scholarship schools, and athletic facilities not there.

Didn't Hornet Gym used to seat 1,000 more fans? Could be a short-term advantage. What do the weight room / training facilities look like?

Big improvement by Coach Katz from the days of coaches Don Newman (20-114, .149) and Tom Abatemarco (13-66, .165). Katz's Sac career record would be much better except for the depleted program he inherited. I believe there were also some scandals in there.
