2019 Draft

Anyone think an Eastern player has a shot at being drafted?

Josh Lewis would be my leading candidate. The NFL will knock his speed, but he’s a solid cover man and good tackler. I could see him getting shot, but it’s an outside shot he actually gets drafted.

All the other guys have some knocks.

Ketner Kupp is prett small and not super fast for an undersized LB.

Jay-Tee Tiuli probably isn’t going to be regarded as strong enough for a guy at 320 pounds.

Roldan Alcobendas is legit in every way, but kickers are rarely drafted.

I'm going to guess Nsimba Webster. He's a good athlete, and EWU has a good rep for developing WRs.

Will have to how he does on his pro day first though.

The Pro Day is really going to make or break anyone getting drafted this year. The only player I’ve seen that even gets projected to be drafted is Tiuli, and that’s in only one projection in the seventh round. I think that assault situation is really going to weigh him down as well. As far as Lewis/Webster/Kupp go, they will need to have a Samson Ebukam-type showing to even have a shot of going in the later rounds. If it weren’t for his ridiculous pro day, even Ebukam would’ve likely gone undrafted, despite his excellent career.

Pro Day Results are in!

Standing by my prediction that Nsimba Webster is the most likely to get drafted.

His 20 yard shuffle is 4.15, which would make him a top performer in the combine. The three cone drill was also impressive. His 40 yard isn't blazing, but 4.49 is certainly respectable. Don't know what a combine scout would say about his route running ability, but his measurables certainly imply he could make it in the NFL.

Sam McPherson could also get a shot, but I feel like in the current market for the NFL, they would rather try him out in free agency and take a shot at a different position in the late rounds.

I see scouts from New England, Jacksonville, Tennessee, and possibly the Raiders in the background.

Also spot the Seahawks and Dolphins in this video

During yesterdays Practice at Roos Field, visited with Samson Ebucam, LB and Aaron Neary, OL, both visiting EWU and Coaches/Players. Great talking with both Players, along with Andre Lino, with his Engineering Degree, is holding down one of those good paying in his field :) . They are leaving today going back to LA. We have another great looking team. We have Walk-on, about 8 of them, one just got a victory in Wrestling fm Juanita HS, who is a Walk on, on DL, another a LB. Couple Juniors from Oregon, and California checking out the Program, they seems like they are happy with their visit. Go Eagles.!!!!!Vic Wallace

Damn, they didn't pick him up. I feel he's better than the other late round WRs, but that is clearly bias.

Prove them wrong in camp boys!

Josh Lewis will be at the Seahawks rookie camp. Keelan Doss signed with Oakland and Alex Wesley with NYG's. Someone is reporting Emmanuel Butler signed with the Saints and the Nicholls WR signed with Carolina.. None of the "updated" free agent signings sites are very accurate.
