2021 Season: Get Some Experience & Treat It As A Redshirt Yr?

should we just hope for the best and have a low expectation not just for wins but to even play games? do what you can and hope to be ready for the real season, 2022? just look how football turned out, and that was when covid was less and games were outside. utah played only 3 games out of 5 scheduled with 1 to go. usu played 6 out of 7 and just 1 left. arizona st has played 2 with 1 left.

we do have 23 scheduled, and done in such a way that it wont be difficult if wsu or its opponent need to cancel any.

I think the NCAA should have stepped up and cancelled the season. I love sports, but it’s ridiculous that some teams and conferences are playing while others aren’t. There are no uniform protocols. I know it’s big money, so I know that is what ultimately rules...but this isn’t even that entertaining. I think we should be prioritizing health and safety instead of overrunning our hospitals...but it seems like we can’t unite to do things anymore. In WWII, they were gas rationing, power rationing, and growing victory gardens...we can’t even put on masks. This year equates to an exhibition season.

CHEX, if I could, I would award you the "post of the year." AMEN!! I too love sports, but it is absolutely ridiculous that we are trying to play a season in the middle of a pandemic. No matter, decisions have been made and games are being played. We will see our second Wildcat game of the season tonight against Westminster. I hope for a injury free game, where nobody gets sick. That's is about all we can hope for right now if games are going to be played. Keep arenas empty and bubble players, coaches, and staff as much as possible. I know that Weber State has the ability to test anyone involved with the program daily, if needed.

By the way, and this might be a bit conspiratorial of me (perfect for 2020), but because Dixie was going to allow fans I have a feeling Weber suddenly had a possible case. If Dixie plays without fans, I guarantee that game happens. To play games is ridiculous, but to play with fans is beyond dumb right now.

Nicest thing about this "season" is that the guys get the year back and can play again next year, if they want to stick around for another season. Would be a huge windfall if the Cats end up being good and can keep most of their players who are 5th year guys. I believe we will see a few stay around with an extra year to play. I'm really glad for our upper-classmen. I don't think we will see "The Dance" until April when more people can be vaccinated.

My feelings are that they should play as many games as they can, in the most safe way that they can. I think they are doing just that. Even after a vaccine is out and administered to the masses, this virus will still be a threat to those who don't believe in vaccines and those with very little or no immune rsponse. All of us are trying to do the best that we can to protect ourselves and our loved ones. Some people don't seem to have any loved ones, and that is truly sad, but we can only control ourselves. This is a unique season for all sports and other activities. I think we should embrace it and try to get the most we can out of it. :coffee:
