2022 Football Schedule

I was hoping we would have the chance to play Montana State after their solid run into the postseason.

2022 is another strong schedule for the team. I predicting 9-2 or 8-3.

UNI / Colorado State will be good tests on the road which has been a strength for the hornets while being led by coach Taylor and his well tuned staff.

Just an FYI, by next year our first opponent will be called Utah Tech. They're in the process of a name change because at this time in history, "Dixie" doesn't fly anymore.

While I'm not thrilled with playing Dixie State and UNI again, we probably owe them return games after last year. At least UNI gives us a cross-regional game that will build SOS into the mix. The in-conference schedule will be tough enough with the Griz, particularly if they're keeping O'Connell (they SHOULD keep him, as the roster says he's just a redshirt junior). The wild card in here for me is Colorado State. They MIGHT be ripe picking for a scalp, but that's not as clear a call for me as San Jose State, Oregon State, or Wazzu would be. SD's opinion, as well as Kadeezy's and GCM's, would be interesting to see on that....

Seriously?

No thanks. No disrespect toward you, but I'm not reading some extremist opinion why they think it matters let alone give them more clicks. This is just more virtue signaling and over-reactionary garbage.

What Dixie State decides to call themselves going forward doesn't affect me at all. However I'm just far past tired of the reasoning (or lackthereof) behind these types of movements and the cherry-picking behind which history gets erased and which doesn't.

That article isn't going to change that.

I didn't like the title of it either and in hindsight, I could've probably found a different article explaining the name change. Southeastern Utah has been called "Utah's Dixieland" for as long as I can remember and the school’s had Dixie as part of it since their days as a JUCO. (A cousin of mine played basketball there back in the 70s when it was Dixie College)

The political correctness of modern day is exhausting and appears to be a never ending task that can turn almost anything into a political narrative.
