Decided to move this to it's own thread since these are being officially reported via SacHornetsFb twitter account.

At first glance I notice really good size for all positions, especially at DB.

Clearly defensive heavy.

I'm a bit concerned over the lack of o-lineman. We need more players there with good size. Same goes for d-line. But Tyler Henry should help there.

Interesting that I don’t see this young man on there? It’s still on his Twitter page as well

Correct. He hasn't been officially announced as yet.

The early signing period continues through Dec. 17, so perhaps he'll officially sign and be announced between now and then.

Or perhaps he's decided to wait until the February 2nd date.
Or perhaps he's changed his mind.

Maybe we'll find out soon.

It's kinda odd, but the official twitter phrasing makes it seem like a final list referring to it as "the entire 11-man class". However I've noticed them doing that before and more signees were announced later.

Hopefully there are more to come.

Wow. Coaches loaded up in areas where graduation hits the roster hardest, and added some nice pieces to complement the returning roster as well.

3 star recruits: 5
2 star recruits: 3

Stellar haul on paper. I like that 8 of the 11 are HS recruits.

Regarding the OL, there are 17 OL on the roster who have eligibility left (2 SRs graduate this season). At various points in the season we started 3 FR. Also Stiefel was a starter that was lost early in the season due to injury. So we potentially will have 4 returning OL with significant starting experience. The coaches could be happy with who they have slated to return and are instead focusing on quality over quantity on the recruiting trail.

Amazing what this coaching staff has done on the recruiting trail since arrival. :notworthy:

Good points on the o-line, although I still believe the lines should always be addressed each recruiting season.

But d-line and pass rushers are two areas I'd still like to see addressed.

We are really solid at RB, WR and I think the DB position has a lot of potential. I like the adds at LB too.

Per the Sacramento Bee, The Hornets have five more scholarships to give, and those could come through the NCAA transfer portal, or securing more high school or junior college commitments.

Nice catch! Would be nice to pull in a couple more impact players from the portal, like that ISU DB.

Plus more spots could open up between now and Spring if anyone leaves for any reason.

JoeD also indicated that Anthony Garcia, the areas top QB, is also still in play. He hasn’t signed yet, though recently was offered by SJST.

These kids have until tomorrow to sign or must wait til the next signing period beginning February 2nd.

Looks like only two? I thought we’d see more action in the transfer portal both ways for this team.

I'm hoping to see a Long Snapper today, we need one. Right now on the spring roster there are none listed.

So far! Days not over yet. Not sure if you saw this tweet today, looks like there will be a lot of football players trying out.

I was expecting more than 2 as well.

They've already posted a signing day recap story on hornetsports.com and when they did that back in DEC early in the afternoon they were done. No more signings.

So I'm not expecting anything more.

I do like that they signed a another kid with good size for the lines. Sousa, Sogialofa and Henry in total. Hopefully all 3 develop into good players.

I really don’t think they are done yet, yes they put out the recap yesterday, but I know they few scholarships left to offer. Even the Sac Bee mentioned yesterday that The Hornets coaches are also poring over the NCAA transfer portal to look for additions. I believe Ashar Granger has been offered some sort of partial scholarship and was told to wait. There are a lot of quality kids still out there that have yet to sign with a school, maybe because they think they deserve better than what has been offered so far. It would behoove the Hornets to save a few scholarships for this exact reason.

Even coach Cherokee put out a message about a new defensive back joining the team, but no official notice about this.

Make that 4 - 2 star recruits with the 2 newest additions. Solid incoming class.

Looks like we also added another kicker. Didn’t see this announced anywhere, but he is listed on the 2022 roster.
