Excellent, can't wait to hear it! Especially since there wasn't a wrap up edition at the end of last season, it just felt "incomplete" after the playoff loss.

No real talk about realignment, but veiled comments about us being on our way, just scratching the surface of program potential. He said there's no reason we can't support a program like they do in similar sized cities like Austin, TX, Fresno, CA, and Columbus, OH...

Said Troy Taylor turned down other opportunities to stay at Sac State, that it "took Stanford" to get him to leave. Orr said Taylor was in talks for the position weeks in advance, had good open contact with Bernard Muir (Stanford AD), so departure wasn't a surprise and he was ready to hire the replacement right away.

Andy Thompson turned down other Big Sky HC opportunities to stay at Sac State with TT and the core.

End of the podcast is most informative - there have been conversations regarding a shared stadium facility on or off campus with Republic. They are actively working on designs and fundraising efforts to make upgrades.

Orr says we are happy at FCS level, but are maintaining awareness of the FBS landscape.

Thanks for the recap.

Count me in with the others that have previously commented about the “on/off campus” topic in preferring the on-campus option.

While playing off campus at the railyards would have benefits, it hurts in other ways. Hopefully they find a way to keep it on campus.

Great interview. Glad Orr cleared up the timeline on the TT departure and the swiftness in backfilling the HC spot. That process was a true testament to the leadership of Nelsen and Orr.

Facility discussion wasn't anything notable. I don't expect anything to happen anytime soon unless President Wood pushes through a student fee to fund facilities. Orr has been here six and half years and hasn't gotten any further than a feasibility study for an events center. Orr has crushed it on pretty much every aspect of AD with the exception of facilities.

Good to know Orr is keeping the pulse on conference realignment and potential partnerships for facility options.

Latest episode. Better late than never. https://sactownsports.com/category/podcast_player/?a=5a7bd67a-ff23-47a3-ae00-297df6cc26b2&n=Stingers%20Up%20-%20The%20Sacramento%20State%20Football%20Podcast%20with%20Jason%20Ross&i=1593
