24 hour rule

I've heard coaches say they have a 24 hour rule where the players can celebrate or cry about the results of Saturday's game but after 24 hours it is over and you move on.
Not having ever played college football I don't know how works that during the regular season but as a Fan I can say I am having a tough time forgetting what might have been. :crybaby:
Trouble coping

I thought this post was going to be about waiting 24 hours after a loss to post something stupid on the board.

Well, I was pissed for about 24-48 hours, but I also know we'll be back and am already looking forward to next season and beating UW. Time to move on. :thumb:

It took my 12 year old a 1/2 hour of crying in the car after the game and then he was over missing out on his one Christmas wish...a chance to visit Frisco. Proud of his fandom and coping with a loss is a good lesson for him to learn.

Coaches will be hitting the recruiting road soon, players will be starting off-season workouts, injuries are being rehabbed, the march has already begun Claw. Keep your chin up! :thumb:

My player is home for the break and we still haven't watched the semi-final game on the DVR. I wanted him to see what a great game he had but he just can't bear to watch. In fact, the first football game he's watched was yesterday's Seahawk game and he could hardly stand that

Oh, and he said he and the other guys do read the forum from time to time. His sole comment about the "other" thread was that he'd like to "beat the piss" out of BF....

I can't imagine watching that game if I were a player. Even though they played a heck of a game, man, it would be tough to relive being so close.

That being said, congrats to your son and the team! As a fan, I couldn't express how flipping awesome our team is, and how excited I am every time they are on the field. As painful as the one that got away is, I wouldn't trade our team for anything. I know the ultimate goal is the NC, but this team has accomplished some incredible milestones that have never happened. They all get to live in history in those regards. What a great team and season!!!

Sounds about right. I remember my dad telling me that I'd played a great game after SHSU '04, but nothing he said, rational or not, could take away the sting and the fury from the way that one went down. To this day, I don't know of a guy who played on that team who has watched the film. Not sure who your son is Dozy, but to him I would say this: Use that shit. When you're at the end of a brutal leg day in the gym this winter and don't feel like sticking around for extras, remember the sound of their players cheering. When you'd rather be watching a movie instead of cutups for the 50th time, remember the silence of putting your gear away for the last time. Luckily, Western Montana has volunteered to pay the butcher's bill from the Towson game. Make them pay, with interest.

 Reading forums like this forbidden for players. Your son could learn a lot from me and if he met me, he'd respect me. Believe it.

But after shsu scored the last td in 04, it was dead silent. And the shsu player were cheering and running around with excitement but it was soooo silent. That game sucked. But does anyone remember my former roommate Sheldon weddle 's missed fg? Lots of things went wrong But what people remember is sears' prevent defense fail.

Just like the UNI game in 2005, Eric Kimble was running for a td to seal the deal and he randomly fumbled. That's what game uni the momentum to come back. But again people remember the defense folding like warm laundry. Reguarless it was a tough loss.. Anyway, I do admit waiting 24 hours after the Towson game may have been a good thing for me to do. :?

Maybe you should change your handle to "legendinmyownmind". Nothing you've posted here has any redeeming value. Talking smack about EWU players over the anonymous internet pretty much says everything anyone needs to know about you. High possibility you will be on the CS board tonight instead of being out with friends. Nice selfie.

Remind me which one of us is a fan, and which has rings.

Rings.. Nipple or nose? :dunce: Nice argumentative style, all hype and no substance. Thought about working for OFA?
