Yeah thats good. I think we have a tougher 3 games in a row come 10/23 vs Weber, MSU and then UC Davis. I believe those three games will be tougher than UNLV, CWU and W.Il.
2 of those 3 at home. Can't look past any games as I feel we are a capable team...Good, bad and ugly capable.
Going to put real effort into staying positive. Go Eags!!

I read Aaron's comments about the game, and he clearly understands that a LOT needs to be cleaned up this week. It doesn't take a profound understanding of the intricate details of football to know our defense was in shambles yesterday. That said, it's better to win really ugly than it is to lose, so 3-0 is an accomplishment.

I don't think Southern Utah is all that good, but like Western Illinois, they'll test the defense with a pretty good aerial attack.

I have no explanation why the defense had been playing well, and why the wheels fell off yesterday. I'm not buying that heat or humidity was the reason. They scored 3 TDs on their first 3 drives when we were still fresh. It was just an atrocious game on that side of the ball. The offense showed A+++ skills in the first half, and ground to a halt in the second half. What was really confusing is that we were still throwing when we should have been shortening the game, especially when we were able to get good yards on the ground. Even that decision wouldn't have mattered if we made some grabs, but the dropsies set in.

Still, the most important adjustment will be to ensure that we get our coverages improved. I'm still blown away that we had a 4th and goal from the 10 and basically left a receiver uncovered. We had a cornerback run deep into the endzone and gave their receiver about 10 yards of space to catch the ball. That can't ever happen in that situation.

So your take on this Obzerver is pretty clear; "If you can't control the team, you might as well support the team" :)

I've seen this before 1:00 min mark:

My initial reaction was the same, but it looks like our guy #7 Tre Weed got beat on a K type route. he ran a slant in and then slanted back to the corner underneath. Weed got "lost in the translation" It was their best WR and we had LB's covering him earlier in the game when he had big catches too... So lots of inexplicable to go around.

Also, don't think the temp or humidity should have impacted the game but it did. I wrote an extensive post on what some of the symptoms look like (it can vary) and the team as a whole showed several signs of malaise throughout the contest IMO... I don't think it's a conditioning issue.

Per the stats, there were only 5 drops as well. Seemed like more and no one likes to see relatively easy balls dropped. Always wish the camera would show more of the field to see exactly what the WR's are doing on their routes but it is not to be. ;)

I know there are some people in the NW who have never really experienced high humidity before. Damp days in the Summer are few and far between in this neck of the woods. So I understand some people don't acclimate to it well. I've spent enough time in the South that I don't notice it all that much.

For me, altitude is the change that kills me. NAU is brutal. Cedar City, Utah is no joke either, sitting at 5,800 ft. If we struggled in Illinois humidity, we might be worse off in Southern Utah high air.

Mentioned the altitude this morning to my wife... It's definitely a factor. Hope we club SUU this week.

After listening to Larry's podcast I would definitely believe this was the case. Hot weather and humidity is no joke...We don't get/have to deal with this very often and there is no way to acclimatizes yourself for it. Can't be easy.

I feel like the guys will bounce back with a convincing effort against the Thunderbirds.
