3rd Place...Or Better? Over Achievers!

I hate to ever say the words "win out" and especially when we are only 1 game over .500 with 4 losses but we just unc and um. its hard to not think it if we can somehow beat both msu and nau who are our next to games which is nice that they are both at the dee where we have won 18 straight regular season conf games. trust me i realize beating msu and nau back to back is a tall order even at home but still...

can we get 3rd or better is my question?

personally i think it would be really pathetic of the big sky if could finish 1st or 2nd given that lillard played in 0 games and we have 3 fresh and a soph playing serious minutes and only 2 seniors on the roster. we also only have 2 juniors playing.

based on age and no dame we should be bottom half and not beating um and unc. not to dis our seniors but looking down the roster it just looks like too much to expect them to do.

this team is over acheiving big time.

we should all be very proud of them. it all started with an almost could have been win against byu who is now a top 10 team.

over achieving, maybe, but this team while hurt and young has alot of talent, look at Fulton, the guy's game is coming on big time and he is just a fresh, Scott is hitting 50% at the 3 point with a shoulder injury put on top of that he is just a soph, Richardson is only a fresh, but he plays great defense.

I think its a testimonial to what Randy Rahe has been able to do here, the kids he brings in are really good players.

good point, i didnt even mention all the injuries which has been unlike anything we have ever seen at weber.

we must not take rahe for granted. I guess now we can see why we were graded as an A+ for intangibles. where was that? espn or blueribbon or athlon. it was from a preseason article.

you are correct about the talent, i do not imply we are a talentless team. just looking down the roster you see 5 freshman, 2 seniors and 2 juniors.

had i been a fan from another school and fully understood this team's injuries i would have picked weber 6th place finish at best.

I think we have the easiest remaining schedule, UNC might have the hardest. Too bad the Bears pulled a win out. We should go 6-1 in the worst case scenario. They graciously split up the Idaho State and Sac State road games and the Idaho State game won't give us any travel lag. We could easily see ourselves tied for second place with UNC with us owning the tiebreaker.

3rd place would be a great finish for us, because I believe that would give us for sure two games in the tournament, but if we finished second in the conference, the CBI tournament would possible be in the future. I am content for either finish. Just as long and we can get the games Lillard played under 30%.
The Sky just needs to look out for the next couple of years especially if Lillard gets his year back. we are a very young team and will be a force to wrecken with. 8-)

If we can stay healthy next year, we are going to be DANGEROUS
