4-1, but 1-4 in the first half

It's interesting that we've only led in one of our games at halftime, and that was a very close 22-21 lead at NAU.

While I'd rather close the game strong than open on a tear, the fact is we really haven't laid down a full 60 minutes yet this season.

I strongly believe Eastern has more talent than Northern Colorado, but this isn't one of the UNC teams of the last few years. They are improving, and at 3-1, probably have a little swagger and confidence to ride. We don't want to leave this one close because the Bears have been finding ways to win even against opponents that may look more talented on paper.

It'll be really important to get off on the right foot this Saturday and keep the pedal down. If we're looking for areas to improve, this is it... we need to apply pressure early and keep it going. Lord knows we're going to be a very successful team with our level of talent if we can consistently play good football.

Beau Baldwin and his staff have always been good at making halftime adjustments.

Definitely can't overlook UNC. They gave Eastern a scare last year. Won it on a last second field goal if memory serves.

Believe Coach B has stated that watching opposing teams film isn't a high priority. I have seen this behavior in several coaches who rather focus on their own team execution. Given the adjustments, level of play and talent on the field, EWU can get away with this more often than not.

As Hillary said, "what does it really matter at this point?"

Against the Northern Coloradoes and UC Davises of the World, it doesn't matter much. However, it is a very bad habit to allow to persist. Eventually, we'll play someone good enough to beat us if we only show up for half the game.

Fortunately, we get a bye week to work on it.

And then we get Montana State, who is absolutely hapless on offense. The MSU game will be a great indicator. Our defense looked crappy today, but if they give up points and yards to the Bobcats, then we're in trouble. They are as bad of an offense as I've seen in the conference in a long time... I mean, really, really, almost indescribably bad. If the D is truly improving, this is a team we can prove it against by holding to 14 points or less.

Have you watched Sac State?

Their offense is worse than Sac State's. It's really, really, really bad.

So was the 1 win for wsu? I think we played great in that game and despite trailing that should not be considered a bad half...besides they are taking Stanford to the woodshed....how much better does that win look now for us...except UNI and NAU both look like bottom feeders.

We trailed WSU 21-17 at halftime. The only game we've led at halftime was NAU 22-21. But I agree, playing Wazzu on even terms for the first half was a good start to that game. Clearly, they're a pretty good football team.
