Well, the performances haven't been dominating, but the results are still there. No one can doubt that Baldwin and Co teach winning. Best has the offense flying high. There certainly is a lot to improve, but the Eagles have to feel good about where they're at. There are so many rotten-to-the-core teams in this conference right now, that we don't need our A game to beat most of the teams. I wish we didn't play down to the competition sometimes, but winning ugly sure beats the hell out of losing!

I had to drop them to #5 in my any given saturday poll, but mostly due to Vernon missing. The results are here and ewu is in every single game they play in and never feel out of their element. What more could a college program hope for?

Great Era to be an eagle!

Can't argue with the results. This team just needs to take it one game at a time and now get ahead of themselves, because I suspect that every game from here on out is going to be a challenge, no matter the record of the team they're lining up against. Would be really nice to get VA back before the Montana game, but I we can still win that one even without him if we get some of our other stars back.

As i stated in another thread, I have class with someone who works for the football team and he said Vernon should only be out for 3 weeks from when he got injured.

I still have us at 2. I can see ranking NDSU, Nova, and UNH ahead of us but who was the 4th?

My AGS Top 5.

1. Villanova
2. NDSU
3. EWU...with VA I think we're a top 2 team.
4. New Hampshire
5. Coastal Carolina

The weird thing is that UNH and Nova don't play this year, so they could both be top 5 seeds if they win their remaining games. My hope is that either NDSU, Nova, or UNH slip up, because if all 4 of those teams win out I don't see us getting the #2 seed due to the relative weakness of the BSC this year. I see us as a 3 or 4 seed in that scenario.

Of course, there's a strong possibility that one of the top 5 will lose a game, sans maybe CC who I don't see losing a game in the Big South...the strongest possibility being their last game against Liberty at home. If NDSU loses a game, and CC wins out, it will be interesting to see if the committee awards CC the #1 seed. I think there could be a very strong argument that NDSU should still get the #1 seed even with a loss in the MVFC...or even Nova or UNH.

If we win out, we will get the number 2 seed. People want the NDSU vs EWU matchup. Also, last year Eastern Illinois got the number 2 seed with a weak SOS.

No one is mentioning the Bobcats. I can see them winning out and we are conference co-champs. The Eagles would be a higher seed in that scenario due to head to head. My question would be, would the committee put the Cats on your side of the bracket so we have to play them before the NC round or would they allow 2 teams from the same conference a chance to make the NC game?

I put:
1. Villanova
2. NDSU
3. New Hampshire
4. CC
5. EWU

I would move EWU back to #3 when VA comes back. I also think Montana state is HOT and should hit the playoffs higher ranked than Montana (if they even make it?) It would be nice to see Montana State knock off NDSU in the dome in the semi's and have an all BSC natty :)

Have you watched Villanova games or how are you forming your opinion? Granted Nova only has one loss, to a 2-4 Syracuse. Their best win is against a 6-1 Fordham then 4-3 James Madison. Other three teams they beat have collectively 2 wins total. What am I missing here that they should be #1?
