Okay, I heard a rumor that IF this kid can get his academics in order, there is a possibility that he will join former JC teamate and countryman Alpha N'Diaye in a Hornet uniform for the 11/12 season as a RS Sophomore.

It's hard to find any stats, etc. from this guys, but jeez, LOOK AT HIM.

With a guy like that, we had BETTER be dumping it to him on a REGULAR basis! We'd better also have some small guards who can shoot the three, because he'll be kicking it out to them when the defense collapses on him....

Unlike Bol, Ayuel does not have NBA aspirations, and Peterson said it will take considerable work for him to become a productive college player. His four-year school options may be limited as well because of his academic qualifications. He had microfracture surgery in both knees in 2009, which further stunted his progress.

I looked all over their website and couldn’t find any stats. He just finished his freshman year but I think the article said he is 21 years old.

I saw him play earlier this year against Sierra College. The big kid from Sierra, Casey Arent, schooled him. Arent blew right by him and the big kid couldn't react fast enough. We can hope he develops, a lot, but I wouldn't hold my breath on him being able to play in the BSC.

Well, he's got one more year at Ohlone for sure, then who knows. If he's healthy and eligibile, it might just be worth it to have him on the roster! At least we could say we had the tallest DI player for a year. Lol...

Speaking of Arent, where's he headed? UOP?

Haven't heard a word about this guy at the UOP board, but I'll check it out. There are occasional recruiting threads focused on individual guys, and a 6'10" center (would probably project as a PF at UOP) would be intriguing.

I guess the UOP board DID talk about Arent back in Nov. Seems that the UOP staff has at least a passing interest in him, but there's question about him having contacts with higher ranking schools. There's also a question about him even being academically eligible. One guy said Arent had to pass 19 units in the spring to be eligible under the new transfer rules that go into effect for fall 2011 recruits.

So Arent to UOP is a big question mark. Great pick-up IF he gets his butt in gear in the classroom.

Cal was also interested in Arent.

Probably right up until they started hearing about his academic issues. While there is probably SOME flexibility for athletes at the school that typically rejects 4.0 GPAs, he probably doesn't have a snowball's chance in H-E-Double-Hockey-Sticks of getting past the admissions staff in Bezerkeley.

I would be real suprised to see him sign with a Pac 10 team. Saw him play this year and do not think he was as good as Justin Eller. He looked physically strong, but not as athletic. Had some good post moves, but always seemed to be trailing his teammates up the floor.

I see where NAU got a Parade All American 4th team 6'3" guard, Charlie Gruber, from Harbor High in Santa Cruz. Cal Poly also picked up a 4th team Parade All American from Palos Verdes. It's unusual to see such highly rated basketball recruits going to lower mid-major schools, but I like it. I wonder if Sac St even tries to recruit kids ranked this high or do we just assume there is no way to pick anyone up that's this good? It gives one hope tho that it "could happen" someday, I guess, but we've got to let them know we're interested too.

A few other non-big name basketball schools got highly rated players: Delaware and Buffalo got 3rd team kids and UNC Wilmington got a 2nd teamer.
