NOTES
Sophomore defensive tackle Alesana Laban was injured on the third play of the game and did not return…Deadder and running back Bryan Hillard competed in a scrimmage or game for the first time since the season finale of the 2008 season…John Taylor, who started every game at center for the past two years, played left tackle while Hostra transfer Jaren Harrell earned the nod in the middle of the line…along with his new spot at safety, Evander Wilkins also returned kickoffs during the scrimmage…following the action, the players participated in a youth on-field clinic. The players demonstrated and assisted with different football skills with kids in attendance.

RUSHING: Croxdale 4-16; McCowan 5-15; Hilliad 4-11; Douglas 3-6; Edwards 1-(-2); Safron 1-(-6); Bethel-Thompson 5-(-27); Carmazzi 4-(-30).

PASSING: Bethel-Thompson 14-27-0-140-2; Edwards 5-7-0-67-2; Carmazzi 4-6-1-53-2; Safron 0-5-0-0-0.

RECEIVING: Norisse 6-64; Richardson 5-65, TD; Broadnax 3-64, 2 TD; Larson 2-18, TD; Lane 2-13, TD; Hilliard 2-11; Deadder 1-11, TD; Carter 1-11, Maciel 1-3.

SACKS: Wilkins, Nash (2), Pereira, Clark (2), Odiase, Agaiva.

Where is Reed? He didn't have a catch but did he participate?

Anyone know how bad the injury to Laban is? He is a big body and we will need him to clog the inside and defend the run.

Also after reading the article, it sounds like MBT is looking good but after that we have no one (Edwards won't be available until the 2011 season). It will be essential that MBT stays healthy.

I read in the scrimmage preview that Reed, Willis and Shaw were tending to minor injuries and would not play

I'm always confused by the tail end of those passing stats when the numbers are not identified. Is that digit after the yardage TDs or picks? If there are two separated digits after the yardage, what's the order?

Those are touchdowns...six TD passes. Defense had 8 sacs.

I was at the scrimmage on saturday. This is not meant to say that they won't improve but....

I wasn't overly impressed with anything that was going on. That's just being honest.
I want this team to improve on last year we need to win no less than 7 games. From what I saw on saturday overall talent and size wise, Right now I don't see us winning more than maybe 5 games again.

I know Reed, Hendershot and Shaw didn't play so this may have screwed with what I watched. But I'm being honest.

If MBT goes down we will be in big trouble because the young QB's arent ready to play. It really showed saturday.

By the way does anyone know what is happening to our young Offensive lineman- Born, Tannanbaum? Where are they? No Jeff Johnson? What going on with our young guys that we recruited in the last 2 years?

Born is gone...transferred to a JC (?) because someone got into his head and told him he should be in the NFL by now. From what I have heard, he had size but was a bit of a stiff and a project. Can't speak on the others

Football now, you're right. I was there and saw much of the same. We're talented (moreso on offense), but we have serious, SERIOUS, issues with depth in my opinion on both sides of the ball. If MBT goes down or goes rogue, there isn't much behind him.

I dont know if anyone has seen this but the video is cool
