9 conference games beginning 2020

I understand at the most recent Big Sky meetings, they agreed to start playing 9 conference games beginning in 2020. If FCS stays at 11 games (except for the occasional 12 game seasons), that means 2 OOC. It's probably not a bad thing, but for those teams which rely on 2 body bag games a year (Hello Jeff & ISU, among others), it means every other year a season with only 4 home games and 7 away games. That's a recipe for disaster.

With how big the Sky has become a 9 game schedule makes sense. A 9 game schedule, with 14 conference teams, could help clear up the dust at the end of the season in regards to crowning a season champion. However, you do bring up an excellent point. There will be a number of teams, very possibly including the Wildcats, who will potentially have seasons where they only get 4 home games, if the NCAA does not allow the FCS to go to a 12 game format. For me, I don't think the Sky would move to a 9 game format unless there was an strong chance that the NCAA was moving to the 12 game format for FCS. Yet, we never know though. We already know one of our OOC's for 2020; Wyoming.

Like I said in a different thread I wont mind the 9 game schedule if it was every other year of 5 home or 5 road.

I don't want Weber to have several consecutive 4home 5road seasons while the Montana's of the conference get several consecutive 5home and 4away seasons

It has to be alternating every year for EVERY TEAM.
