9 Game Conference Schedule Starting 2020

Interesting that there is going to be uneven number of home and away games...so I'm assuming that every other year we would have 5 conference home games. In 2020, we already have San Diego State and Washington on our schedule… so we might only have four home games that year.

It's not official yet. Presidents voted to not vote on the issue until further research is done.

A 14 team conference is ridiculous. An FCS FB only conference needs to form, this would also open up another auto-bid for the playoffs.

I was talking to some folk from the Davis department at the Poly pregame, and the subject of future schedules came up. The good news for us is that we're moving to 1 FBS game a year for the next 3 seasons. The subject of a 14-team Big Sky came up, along with the possibility of 2 7-team divisions (a Pacific and Mountain division, though its not clear which two schools would join the west coasters for the Pacific). The fly in the ointment is North Dakota -> rumors that they want to jump ship and join the other Dakotas in the MVC. Seems like a logical move for them.

Good to hear form you DM, I hope all is well. :thumb:

UND has dropped baseball and announced this fall that more cuts are coming. Summit for Oly and MVFC for FB makes a lot more sense than their current situation. I hope they make that move. Adding UND was a ludicrous move, however the recent Idaho add mitigated some of the Oly travel to make their presence somewhat bearable. I would think the BSC would want to add someone in the event that UND leaves (probably steal a WAC member) to stay at a balanced Oly membership of 12.

There might be more than Idaho. NMSU and SJSU are treading water. One big wave and they will be sunk.

GCM is probably right.

I would also love to see (pie in the sky thinking here, of course) a return of football about half an hour south of Hornet Stadium. We'll see....

Now that they have torn down the stadium, thats not going to happen...

The stadium was rotting, PGP. There was no choice BUT to tear it down. They'd have to start by renting the JUCO down the street or the Historic Grape Bowl in Lodi (which hosted a few of UOP's bowl games, not to mention the famous Money Game against Cal) while building a new stadium SOMEWHERE. (On-campus might be a problem now that the spot the original field was on has been turned over to other sports, not to mention the fact that the Grape Bowl is nothing like it was back when UOP had their bowls there.) It's a long shot, to be certain. But if it COULD happen, the benefits of another geographic rivalry for Sac (particularly if it could be paired with a trophy that would go back and forth) would be enormous.
