A few ISU FB detections..

QB Kyle Morris is moving on to Humbolt St. in NorCal, and it appears that former Poky High star Wes Howard is done at ISU :/.. I'm sure more will be made known in the coming weeks.. On a positive note, a few FR are already here, amongst them D. Allen from Miami Northwestern, and he looks pretty good.. Our LB play should be excellent this year..

Thanks for the update. Knew about Howard, but did not know about Morris.

I hope both individuals land on their feet and get focused on doing what it takes to be successful student athletes.

bengalcub.... or somebody....how do these type of transfers affect ISU's APR scoring?...or do they affect it at all?......thanks.....

Purely speculation on my part, we cannot know the real answer without hearing from ISU---but...

If I were a betting man--they did not take care of business in the classroom and did not pass enough credits in the spring and the summer to stay eligible. ISU needs to keep everyone and I am sure the plan was to try and get them in line. Kramer cannot give up on them unless they are so far gone that things cannot be fixed. I would bet that is the case and the damage is done.

ISU could not run players off, they needed to do everything that they could to get players in good academic standing.

Then again, these defections may not be academic casualties at all. I just think they are.

The APR is calculated by allocating points for eligibility and retention -- the two factors that research identifies as the best indicators of graduation. Each player on a given roster earns a maximum of two points per term, one for being academically eligible and one for staying with the institution.

It's my understanding that w/Kyle he was eligable but had something near a 2.2.
Coach Kramer told him that he would never start him with that GPA. So instead of trying harder to prove him wrong... He quit! As much as i liked Kyle, we are better off without quitters.

Quitters don't win, and winners don't quit.
