A few years ago, we had an early season beat-down from an FBS foe and then went on the road a few weeks later and dropped one to a ranked conference opponent. We then lost a generational offensive talent to injury for the rest of the season. We would up tying with MSU for the conference 'ship and got a 5 seed in the playoffs. Made it all the way to a game in Texas and couldn't score a single point in the first half. The game was so bad, the announcers stopped calling the game and instead started interviewing the Vice President, who was in attendance and rooting for the other guys. Finally, we ended up scoring for the first time late in the third quarter. And then again. And again. And then EWU was the 2010 National Champions.

Football is weird. The season is long. There are certainly a lot of questions, but I like our chances of a deep run this season. I think this game was a bit of an aberration, but I suppose that remains to be seen. As Coach Baldwin used to say, stay off the emotional rollercoaster.

Go Eags!

Preach. This was a good learning experience for Eric. We still control our own destiny since Davis edged ISU, and we still have Davis on the docket. Regroup, and erase the doubt.

Yep. Quality stuff gentlemen.

Lots of football to be played but I think we're very capable of winning out. 9-2 with wins over 8-3 or 7-4 MSU and NAU, a win over 9-2 or 8-3 Davis and no bad losses would be a pretty damned good resume. To pile on Formereag, 9-2 and a 5 seed sounds familiar.

1) My guess he's somewhere in the upper half of these stats...above the average. We get healthy and with our defense this year we beat Idaho, UNC and UC Davis at home finishing with a win at PSU as EB3 progresses. If/when GG comes back all the better. Looking forward to home playoff games.

Didn’t watch the second half. Couldnt. Just hope the staff gets some things figured out over the next couple of weeks because there’s still a lot to play for.

Training staff needs to get guys healthy. An FCS team can't have this many guys sitting out without a major drop off.

The sun came up this morning. Imagine that.

Yep! Still a fun season ahead and plenty to look forward to. During the Idaho game/Homecoming, we get to see the renovated PUB (& bookstore) for the first time! That will be neat. I love seeing the campus grow and renovate. After touring the PUB, it will be cool to go to the old Cheney High School on Greek Row and check it out. It was bought, renovated, and repurposed for kind of upscale student housing and looks like part of campus now.

IDK... I'm just digging for things to be happy about after that Weber game.
