I forget if I've posted here previously about getting Portland State out of Providence Park. One of the ideas was something of a hyper-expansion of the Viking Pavilion project that somehow included a fieldhouse and a stadium.
An idea that I don't think I posted... imagined somehow inserting a stadium on the "back side" of SW 4th. Lecture rooms by week, luxury suites on Saturday. Maybe a few other touches like that. Well, the back side of 4th probably isn't the place.
HOWEVER... on a slightly related note, Sports Illustrated has kind of come on board. In a way.

Mind you, as they talk about NFL, I'd actually not simply imagine a reduction in stadium size, I'd generally point out that in 80% or so of recent cases, the replacement stadium HAS been a downsizing. In baseball, that's almost 100%. Just food for thought on that.
But imagine what Portland State can do that expands the campus upward and somehow brings a real home place to play.
