Academic Center

On the third installment of Ask the AD; Jerry Bovee announced the building of a, I believe he said, 4600 ft2 Academic Center to be built South of the stadium. He said that it would not only include areas where athletes can receive tutoring and academic support, but also, private study areas, a refreshment/refueling area, and a balcony. I would include hot tubs and a disco ball.:kisswink: Kidding aside, this will be a really nice addition that focuses squarely on academics and helping student-athletes graduate. Also, it will be another recruiting tool showing potential Wildcats what Weber State is fully dedicated to.

:thumb: Nice job by athletics.

I'm curious...I know the accumulated monies were used to help finish the field house, but is there still a plan in place to build the North End Zone Plaza and to fix the stadium entrances?

We have started construction on the new academic center. The old annex where tennis, soccer, and golf were housed (also the President's house up to Miller, I believe) is on its way down. Construction will start soon thereafter and should be done by December.

The north end zone entrance is still in the master plans, but there's no time period as far as I know. We have several things we have to invest money in this summer that will slow the process in building the north end zone stuff.

Seriously??

What is wrong with the Library and the Student Union? :wtf:

If we want to be taken seriously as a football program we need to have a legit closed stadium, simply because that's what the competion has a short drive away. Has the school considered putting together a master plan for the stadium that could be done in phases as the money comes in? Nothing would get more funding then showing donors what we could have if the money came in.
