39 STUDENT-ATHLETES EARN SPRING ALL-ACADEMIC HONORS

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - A total of 39 Sacramento State student-athletes earned spring season academic all-conference honors from the America Sky Conference, the Big Sky Conference and the Western Athletic Conference., increasing the school's total for the 2009-10 school year to 102.

To earn all-academic honors from the Big Sky, a student-athlete must have achieved at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average at Sacramento State and have participated in at least half of the team’s competitions during the season. The America Sky also required a 3.2 cumulative grade point average, while the Western Athletic Conference required a 3.0 cumulative grade point average and participation in at least half of the team's competitions. In gymnastics, the awards presented by the WAC were for first-time honorees only, as the other team members had already been honored in the winter.
