2008 Big Sky Champions - first title since 1968
(would have been co-champs in 1987 but the Big Sky didn't recognize co-champs for a period of time)

Most players named first-team All-Big Sky (12) in one season by any team in conference history
First win against Montana since the 1998 season
First win against Montana State since 2000 season
First season to beat Montana and Montana State in the same year since 1987
First 6 win season in conference play since 1991
Second ever 10 win season in school history (1987 - 10-3)
First ever season in school history to start out 5-0, 6-0, and 7-0 in conference play

-Beau Hadley became the first WSU football player to be named First Team Academic All-American on the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic Team
-WSU QB Cam Higgins; Walter Payton Award candidate (Finished 6th place)
-Higgins, 3rd Team All-American
-Higgins finished season #1 in the nation for total passing yards with 4,477. Only 1 other quarterback had over 4,000 yds.
-Higgins was #4 in the nation for passer rating - 166.42
-Higgins was #2 in the nation for passing TD's with 36.
-Smith became the first player in WSU history to post 3 straight 1,000 yard rushing seasons and is now WSU's career rushing leader
-Jon Williams, #5 in the nation for extra points made - 57
-Jon Williams, #4 in the nation for extra points attempted - 60

-Kevin Linehan, 2nd in the Big Sky in sacks with 10.5 during the season
-Beau Hadley, 4th in the Big Sky in tackles, averaging 8.6 per game
-Linehan and Hadley forced five fumbles during WSU's 14 games - both tied 2nd in the Big Sky

Coach Mac
-Big Sky Conference Coach of the Year
-Candidate for National Coach of the Year - Eddie Robinson Award
-Finished 3rd in Eddie Robinson Award with 170 points, Cal Poly's Rich Ellerson cam in 2nd with 174 points and JMU's Mickey Mathews won with 229 points. Mac had the 3rd most 1st place votes and the 1st most votes for 2nd place.

Playoffs & Rankings
-1st playoff berth since 199 and only 3rd playoff appearance in school history
-1st automatic berth into the NCAA Division I FCS playoffs
-NCAA Division I FCS 1st Round Win (over 3rd ranked Cal Poly)
-2nd ever appearance in NCAA Division I FCS Quarterfinal Playoff Game (@ Montana)
-Finished season ranked #7 in the nation
-#7, highest ever final ranking in school history
