Adidas Replica Jerseys

Does anyone have any idea why EWU does not sell replica football or basketball jerseys in the bookstore or online? I'm not talking about the lame ones in the bookstore without numbers that do not even look like the jerseys the team wears. The athletic department and university is losing out on a ton of money. Most Nike schools have exact replicas available for purchase with a specific number each season. I wonder why Adidas cannot do the same thing. I don't have a problem spending $75 for a jersey that looks legit but not for one without a number. Any other thoughts?

I've often wondered why they don't sell them at the bookstore either, but I don't believe it is on Adidas. If you look at other Adidas schools like Notre Dame, Michigan, Cincy, etc, they all sell them at their bookstores. Seems like it is on the EWU Bookstore folks shoulders.

Eastern dont do alot of shit. Idk about now but a few years ago the stores in the Spokane mall would have Gonzaga stuff, Wazzu, Idaho, GRIZ, even sometimes Udub stuff. BUT NEVER EASTERN. That leads me to believe Eastern is slacking when it comes to licensing its products. Most of the time EWU didn't have many athletics related products to license.

I don't care about the malls and whatnot, since they probably wouldn't make a lot of money with all the WSU and Gonzaga garbage that's out there.

But at the very least they should be selling them locally at the bookstore and online (via the bookstore). This pisses me off, too.

Privatize it baby!!!
If it were in the hands of an entrepreneur there would be a lot more to buy and much more revenue. If the University agreed to turn over sales of all athletic gear and took a cut of the revenue everyone would gain. We all know when private enterprise does something it is a better end result than when bureaucrats try to be profitable.

They do (or at least did a couple years ago) sell a Stuckey replica bball jersey. Picked one up and its pretty legit.

The black jerseys w/o the numbers do come pretty close to our real jerseys now that we've gone all black. They do sell replica full sized helmets though.

Eastern manages all of this thru licensing. I don't think any university tries to manage their brand from the top down to retail marketing. Therefore, it is all about entrepreneurship. If someones wants to buy the license (I think standard licensing on NCAA merch is about 10% of gross sales to the institution), YOU could be the one in charge of getting it in storefronts. I know the GEG airport does well with Eastern merchandise.

This.

And the licensing and 10% are paid by the manufacturer and passed down with the wholesale pricing.
