Alaska: 3rd Place - WSU vs Drake

So, finally, Weber gets the chance to play a MVC team. I've been waiting for this chance for years. I don't understand why Weber doesn't play more Big West, WCC, MVC, Summit, WAC, or Great West opponents. Honestly, I think Weber should destroy this team. I hope that Weber doesn't come out flat because they lost to ASU last night. Such a close game, could cause a let down tonight. If DLill is on last night, Weber wins by 10. Weber needs to put the loss behind them and get after Drake and end the tournament with a W.

if you dont have altitude or fox sports arizona you can watch the game free at this link.

working THANKS!

This is pathetic

Can we guard the perimeter?? 46 first half points. Way to many TOs. It took us 5:30 to score. HELL!! I know it was a tough loss yesterday, but losing to Drake is embarrassing. WEBER is a much better team.

What a weird game ..but the players are starer to know each other... I'm still never giving up on this team, but they need to come out and play at the begining.. Bam Bam is worth watching and when we get Porter in the line up, it's all cyinders ahead... big win on the road....

U-G-L-Y we don't got no alibi we Ugly yeah yeah we UGLY! That's all I have to say about this talented team. We are playing UGLY! I'm sick of our teams "dominating" a weak Big Sky and unable to compete in any out of conference games. ESPECIALLY, when we're a lot more talented than these other teams.

Unbelievable finish, but in post game interview on Fox, Coach Rahe said the team deserved to win and had worked hard in 2nd half. Slamming the ball down, whether it seems insignificant, is a technical foul.
This tourney showed the kids they can play with a Pac-10 team, beat a MVC team, and gained them some valuable game experience. Helped Bamforth to get his confidence, and I hope Damian has his mojo back, looked better int he 2nd half.,

Looking forward to Seattle.......

Wait a minute...this isn't the www.egriz.com football forum, is it? The smugness has me momentarily confused.

Correct me if I am wrong but I could swear that MSU, UofM and Portland State have all been at the top or close in the Big Sky over the course of the last 3-5 years.

WSU is a very good team. Talented... especially at the guards. Of the Big Sky teams I've watched, the Wildcats are probably the best at this point early in the season. But dominant and infallible...nope.

By the way...awesome win for WSU and the Big Sky conference tonight. I concur that it would be neat to see Big Sky schools getting more games vs. Missouri Valley Conference teams.

No smugness or infallibility intended MTJack, to the contrary I was speaking to our own ineptitudes as a team. (Notice dominating is in quotation marks) I was also alluding to my thoughts that the ENTIRE Big Sky Conference is weak, Weber included. It's like being the smartest idiot.

i just finished watching the game. it was what i needed after last nights game i wasnt sure if i could watch another game for a while.

even down 15 i had no doubt we would win the game. late in the 2nd half seeing DU never letting up with its shooting, they couldn't miss...i was beginning to think it wouldnt be possible to catch up.

a crazy ending, spiking the ball...what an idiot but you can't do it in football either. bam and dame had almost 60 combined points!!

DU shot 57% and 8-13 3's and lost, ouch! they shot better from beyond the arc than the ft line though.

what about our team? hot shooting, 10-18 from outside, 53% fg, 20-26 ft's.

lillard 31 points, 6 rebs, 5 assists,
bamforth 6-8 3-pt shooting was insane, he needed the ball more lol, 6 assists, 2 steals and a block

fulton had 14 pts from 6-11 shooting and 4 rebs in 23 min, is he gonna be the frontrunner for fresh of the year?

its funny on the Conversation next to our boxscore on espn reading all the comments from all the idiots betting. they all sounded like they had drake with an easy win over us. lol

That was a good, confidence building, game. We learned that you are never out of a game, if you keep playing hard. In this game we got the breaks that we haven't been getting. We also seem to be getting used to one-another. Fulton and Bamforth are making a case for more playing time. If we keep improving like we have been, we are going to be good in the Sky.

The top 6 teams in the BSC seem to be just as good, or better, than last year. It might come down to who gets the breaks in key games. Any way you slice it, it is going to be a fun season.

I like old runners assessment. A good confidence builder and lesson learned on never giving up. Great breakout game for Fulton. That said, if I were a Drake fan and in Anchorage, it would take a great discipline not to kick snow on that officiating crew. That was never the intent of the rule for technical fouls, and refs should never have that much influence in a game. We have some work to do for sure. USU barely beat Northeastern, and the Utes lost at home to Oral Roberts. Overall a good tourney for the team.
