Alema Harrington's faux pas

Did anyone catch Alema Harrington's comments on Channel Two's sports on KJZZ tonight? He was reporting the score of the Western State game, and he referred to Weber State as the "wild kittens". He immediately corrected himself by saying "Wildcats" but there is no doubt that he has no respect for the school. I always suspected as much, due to him rarely mentioning Weber when there is a game. I stopped tuning in last year, as more often than not, he would not make mention of the games. It is obvious that in his conversations outside of his broadcasts, he refers to Weber State as the "wild kittens".

Alema is a joke, he is the worst BYU homer that I have ever heard. He forgot to try or at least pretend he is a professional. I can't stand listening to him on the radio.

If you watch or listen to local sports shows, TV or radio, hoping to get some Weber love, you're wasting your time. I stopped listening to local sports radio long ago and stopped caring about the nightly sports segment on the local news because it's the same thing day after day after day. Jazz, BYU, and Utah. And usually in that order. The only time I ever tune in anymore is for my daily dose of Jim Rome.

I only watch ESPN. I don't think I've ever watched local news unless it was after one of our games or I heard they were gonna cover us. I also pretty much have never listened to AM radio in my life unless our game was on.

But I don't follow the Jazz or BYU or Utah.

Alema actually talks up Cameron Higgins on the radio (1320) a lot. Before the season they were arguing about who had the better NFL prospects Higgins or Max Hall. Alema was backing his Hawaiian brother. Stating that the scouts he talked with had Higgins as one of the top QB's in the 2011 NFL draft.

Of course all of this was before Higgins started throwing the ball like he was Max Hall at Rice Eccles.

Alema doesn't like basketball. He's a football guy, and lets not kid ourselves. Weber is seen as the little brother. The only way to gain respect is to beat the big boys, and hell, that hasn't happened in a while. Lets all hope Weber pulls out a W on Friday. Get some respect back.
