• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

All-state high school listings 1981-2008

I was cruising the Deseret News website today at work and found a link to every Utah all-state high school basketball team since 1981, a project the D-News has been working on for the past few months. Here's the link:

It's fun to go through and find the old Weber State players. Some of them were pretty freakin' awesome ballers in high school, including my namesake, Jimmy DeGraffenried, who averaged 29.6 points and 13 rebounds per game for Payson High back in 1990. Amazing numbers now, but it seems like the scoring averages were way higher back in the early 90's and late 80's. You can also identify the guys who went on to play against Weber for lesser schools like BYU, Utah, and Utah State. I even learned that a cousin of mine was honorable mention all-state a few years ago. It's amazing, some of the names you can find on there...current high school coaches in the area, guys who went on to play at other colleges and pro teams...check it out.

Hey JimmyD... you've got to get your bros to join the forum.. Granted, the youngest is somewhat squirrely, but the oldest, most bald one, needs to get his arse on the forum.

I mentioned the forum to the squirrely one and the bald one. Squirrely one doesn't seem to understand what a message board is, and bald one doesn't seem to care. They both care about the team and attend the games, but that's the extent of their participation. My interest on here comes and goes based on how much free time I have at work. If you see me posting a lot, then you know I don't have much going on here. Those are blessed days.
